Ira Hirst 1828 – 1875 and Adelaide Octavia KINSMAN 1830 – 1901

Ira's Father & Mother:

David HIRST, probably b: 4 Dec 1778; bapt: 4 Jan 1779 (Grinton) Old Chapel Independent, Morley; d: 27 Jul 1865 & buried at Rehoboth chapel, Morley - my 3 x great grand father. Married his wife:   Martha, nee FOX, b: circa 1786, d: dau of John Fox.  They were married in Kirkheaton, St John the Baptist, 26 Jan 1807.  They were both living alone together in the 1851 census in Middlethorpe, Dewsbury.  Martha was living with Sarah Anne at the age of 82 in the 1861 census

David was registered in the census' as both weaver and musician.  They lived in Batley, Morley.  Unfortunately I haven't found any info on their ancestors except that his father was probably:

John Hirst:  possibly bap: 29 May 1757 in Norland. d: 1 Jun 1826 and son of William and his wife was, Hanna, (nee Stancliffe) b: possibly 1746; bap: 4 Nov 1750, d: 22 Jan 1830, Morley.  Dau: John Stancliffe, both of Norland.  Married possibly in 1777.

If this is the correct John & Hanna (thanks Jerry!) then they were married 2 Oct 1777 in Eland, Halifax.  It appears then that the family was originally from Halifax in the 1750s?
