I am a 5th year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC). My research interests lie in the area of Data Science and its intersection with Economics. I work with Prof. Hari Sundaram on mining and modeling social media. We study the successes and failures of these platforms through the lens of Economics. I have also worked with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran on visual analytics—developing an interactive visual summarization system. I have worked as a research intern at Snap Research (Summer 2019), Visa Research (Summer 2018), and Adobe Research (Summer 2016).

In my previous life, I was a lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), having completed my B.Sc. from the same department. I received several honors for my undergraduate research including The Undergraduate Awards [world's largest academic awards program for undergraduates], invited young researcher at Heidelberg Laureate Forum [prestigious meeting with the Abel, Fields, and Turing Laureates], and National ICT Achievement Award [prestigious recognition in ICT by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh].
