Are you yearning to hear the magic words...
Well, that's the end of your test and I'm pleased to tell you you've passed?
If so, then read on.
Like it or not, more people still fail their driving test than pass. On top of the expense of learning to drive, many people are then in the unfortunate position of having to shell out yet more money for, not only a re-test but, more lessons up until the date of the next one.
Coupled with the cost spent on lessons so far, this is probably becoming an expensive scenario that most people could well do without!
As for the argument as to whether the problem is the candidate or the examiner : This is as old as the hills. Indeed, reasons - or excuses (depending on your point of view ) abound for people failing their driving test, usually something along the lines of there were targets to be met that week, or the examiner just didn't like me!
The converse to this, of course, is that some people are just not ready when they turn up for their test. This is not necessarily a reflection on the candidate's attitude; rather that they just don't know precisely what is going to be required of them on the day.
In a nutshell, it comes down to Skills versus Statistics. Whichever side of the argument you come down on, this book attempts to offer a solution by looking at both sides of the coin by discussing some of the most common reasons people fail and also suggests some practical help in the form of short exercises as well as attempting to increase understanding. You'll have heard the expression, knowledge is power. Believe me, never was this so true as in learning to drive ( and I speak from over 15 years experience ).
There is, however, more. There is one ingredient that is more important than all this talk about statistics and ( oddly enough ) pure skill. I'll come to it in a moment. I hope that, even if you forget all you've read so far, or disappear to another site ( please don't ) that you remember what I'm about to say now :
Without meaning to state the obvious, if you want to pass your test, you have to be the one that's ready to sit with the examiner and do a confident drive leaving them in no doubt that you are going to go out and be safe. It goes without saying that the best way to achieve this is to be far better than you actually need to be to pass your test. And, the best way for you to soar to this level of competency and gain the freedom that only passing the driving test can bring, is for you to take a pride in everything you do towards learning to drive.
For a fraction of the cost of a driving lesson, not to mention those numerous re-tests, you can read this easy to use e - book. It has an introduction to each topic, some useful points to remember and summary of each topic – all colour coded for easy reading.
