Databases of Highly Cited Greek Scientists

Two databases have been constructed trying to capture systematically scientists with Greek names who have extremely high visibility in the scientific literature based on the citation impact of their work.

The first database is limited to biosciences and it includes Greek scientists with citation impact placing them in the very top of at least one bioscience field among all scientists working in the same discipline at a global level and who fulfill additionally some other quality criteria (see detailed description below).  The second database covers any scientific field (not just the biosciences) and it includes Greek scientists who have published as first or last author at least one scientific work (paper, book, or other) that has received to-date over 1000 citations in the scientific literature OR have an extremely high cumulative citation impact and at least one of their first- or last-authored works has received to-date over 500 citations.

The detailed methodology approach can be found here
