Project Overview

Welcome to the J. Henry Higgins Middle School project website

School Construction Project

As one of the largest middle schools on the East Coast of the United States, and the largest middle school in Massachusetts, the J. Henry Higgins Middle School in Peabody was found in serious need of major structural repairs and other capital improvements to protect the long-term operational efficiency of the building, serve the educational requirements of the Middle School program and bring life safety standards up to code for the students, faculty, staff and visitors.

In collaboration with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the City of Peabody, the Peabody Public Schools and the School Building Committee have begun the Schematic Design phase for the design and construction of a new Middle School building. Project updates will be posted regularly to keep the community informed of the progress.
