Hello and welcome. This is the virtual classroom of Mr Tamashiro's Honors Government class. This website is intended to keep you informed about the various activities that are held in our classroom. Use this website to provide you with another tool to access assignments, handouts and worksheets, video lessons, view projects and due dates, and dates for tests and quizzes. In case of an absence from class, use this website to check on your assignments and what you should be working on before our next class.  



Honors Government Semester Units Schedule

This class will learn the functions of the three branches of the U.S. Government. Students will know important facts, concepts, and theories pertaining to U.S. government and politics. Students will understand typical patterns of political processes and behavior and their consequences (including the components of political behavior, the principles used to explain or justify various government structures and procedures, and the political effects of these structures and procedures). Students will understand the roles, rights, responsibilities, and the participatory obligations of citizens in the United States. Students will be able to analyze and interpret basic data relevant to U.S. government and politics. Students will understand how the United States government relates and interacts with other nations. During the course of the semester, the curriculum incorporates extensive use of analytical problem solving, classroom discussion, and discussion of current political issues. Students will participate in debates, simulations, write in-class timed essays, write one research paper and perform on objective and essay tests.  Students will develop the ability to write a thesis and organize supporting arguments and evidence.
