Rate of Pay: Minimum Wage

Position Hours:   Part-time, usually working 12 to 15 hours per week on a flexible schedule which can vary from week to week.  May be scheduled to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.   May be scheduled up to 20 hours per week during the summer. Typical two-week schedule in Fall 2014: 1st  Monday, 4:00-8:00 p.m., 1st  Tuesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m., 1st  Wednesday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., 1st  Thursday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., 1st  Friday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., 1st  Saturday, off, 2nd Monday, off, 2nd Tuesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m., 2nd Wednesday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., 2nd Thursday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., 2nd Friday, off., 2nd Saturday, 900-2:30 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch off-the-clock).

Other Criteria:

Working under direct supervision of the IT Manager, maintains the order of collections throughout Library by means of shelving, shelf-reading, inspecting, sorting, book pick-up, searching, etc.  Helps prepare materials for circulation.  Assists in programming efforts.  Provides direct service to the public.  Assists in maintaining attractiveness, safety, and security of the Library’s property.  Routine tasks may be directed by other Library staff. 

Educational development at a level normally acquired through completion of the 9th grade in the United States.  Must obtain work certificate, if 14 or 15 years of age, as required by law. Demonstrable possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and capacities identified in the Job Description.   Capacity to work under conditions described in “Working Conditions” section of the Job Description.
