  • Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity drubs University School Nashville, 10-3
    University School Nashville didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity captured a blowout 10-3 win in seven innings.

    Josh Gunter racked up four RBIs on two hits for Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

    University School Nashville couldn't get anything going as long as Max Heeran was pitching. University School Nashville managed just one hit off of the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his four innings of work.

    Justin Dodson recorded the win for Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.

    McKissack was charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

    The top of the third saw University School Nashville take an early lead, 2-0. Minton singled to ignite University School Nashville's offense. An error then moved Minton from second to third. McKissack doubled, bringing home Minton and Burdette.

    Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on an RBI single by Austen Whelan.

    Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity tacked on another three runs in the fourth. A strike out scored Jeremy Bertrand to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Josh's single, plating Austin Johnson and Ervin Fisher.

    Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity increased its lead with four runs in the sixth. Josh started the inning with a three-run home run, bringing home Austin and Ervin. That was followed up with a steal of home by Blayne Bertrand.
