What We Do

The Hershey Lions Club

The club was chartered in the fall of 1944 by local Hershey business representatives through a sponsorship from the Palmyra Lions Club. The club currently meets at the Hershey Italian Lodge at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

The Lions raise funds and give freely of their time to help the less fortunate. The Hershey Lions contribute to these vision/sight related projects:
In addition to sight related projects, the Hershey Lions routinely support many local organizations and other local requests. These regularly include:
  • High School Student Scholarships
  • Hershey Social Ministry
  • Hershey High Parents Club
  • Team Sponsors for Girls Softball, and Boys Baseball and Hockey
  • Lions Local District Disaster Fund
  • Hershey Food Bank
  • Grace United Methodist Church Back to School Project
  • Hershey Plaza Apartments Breakfast

Hospital Equipment Loan Program

The Hershey Lions provide a very helpful but often unknown service to Derry Township residents. Over many years the club has collected and purchased hospital equipment such as hospital beds, walkers, canes, and wheelchairs and loan them at no cost to Derry Township residents in need. Donations are often received when the items are returned, but not required.

Fun & Fellowship

One of the keys to Lionism in to help those less fortunate than yourself but have fun in the club’s projects. So, certain members are designated as ‘Tail Twister” to bring fun and enjoyment to each meeting.
