NOOK BOOKS

Searingtown Library Media Center has 31 NOOKColors available for both student borrowing and for classroom use! Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 are allowed to take home one of our NOOKs for a 1-week loan periodNOOKS are given to students in a protective case which is then inserted into a tote bag. All of this must come back to the library. Students (i.e. parents) are responsible for any damage to the NOOK or the loss of the NOOK, as is explained in the permission form.

Many of the NOOKs also come loaded with apps, including Scrabble, Spell Me Right, Smithsonian Channel, Sudoku, Crossword, and Chess. The NOOKs have Internet access as well. The Internet should only be used for educational purposes. Although the NOOKs come with the ability to set up social websites, students should not attempt to set up any social applications.

Any student who wants to borrow a NOOK must turn in a signed Parent Permission Form.
Students may pick up a form from the library or can print one out. You can view the permission form below.

The NOOKs are organized into different sets; each set has a different collection of eBooks available.
