The Heritage League is holding their 45th annual Holiday of Trees on Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1st at accessible Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Westminster is located at 2110 Sheridan Blvd.  (26th and South Streets)  The hours of the event are Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The admission price remains at $1 per person.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or from The Heritage League members.

Proceeds from this year’s ticket sales will go to “The Bay”.  The Bay started 6 years ago as a safe, supervised place for youth to learn skateboarding.  Since its inception it has grown to include a Girls' Club, youth art exhibits, a dedicated space for music practice and lessons, and a coffee house with weekend entertainment.  An outreach worker is available to help young girls at risk for human trafficking.  The Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Americorp provide mentoring and assistance with math and reading skills.

Holiday of Trees will display 24 beautiful trees decorated by community members and organizations. The Holiday of Trees also features music by local musicians, Santa Claus from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. each day, Mrs. Santa throughout the day, expanded Attic Treasures, Pantry of homemade food items, Raffle of several special items, and a Café.

The Clinic with a Heart was the ticket sale recipient of the 2016 Holiday of Trees.  The Clinic provides medical, dental, vision, chiropractic and physical therapy services to the uninsured and underinsured members of the community.
