The Heritage League of Lincoln, Nebraska

An on-line Holiday of Trees event  is planned for December 9-30.

The 2020 Holiday of Trees was originally scheduled for December 3 and 4.  Because of the coronavirus, the event is being moved on-line.

A new website,, will debut December 9th.  Please check it out to see 18 or more beautifully decorated trees created by community volunteers and organizations.

The recipient for 2020 is Community Crops.  Community Crops encourages a broad range of Lincoln's population, especially low income and immigrant families, to grow their own food.  Community Crops started with one community garden in 2003.  Now there are 11 garden sites, a training farm, a production greenhouse, mobile farmers market, and gardening and cooking education for all ages.

To donate to Community Crops, please send checks to Peg Connealy, Heritage League, 3901 S. 27th Street, #3, Lincoln, NE 68502.

Proceeds for the 2019 Holiday of Trees went to the LMTA Music Outreach Program offered through the Lincoln MusicTeachers Association.  The program offers low cost music lessons to "at risk" or needy students.  A maximum of 50  students receive  lessons in piano, organ, percussion, violin, viola, voice,  guitar,  woodwinds, theory and composition. Each student must be recommended by an adult who is familiar with the child's talent and interest. For more information, visit and click on Music Outreach Program.
