I went from Heriot's to Edinburgh University (MA 1967, BD 1970). I served a year as Assistant Minister at Crown Court Church of Scotland in London, and in 1971 was ordained to Blackbraes and Shieldhill Church, south of Falkirk. After subsequent service at Scotstoun, Leith and Ayr, I left the Church of Scotland, and after a year at Jordanhill College settled in Pitlessie, Fife, spending a few 'challenging' years teaching RE at Monifieth High School. I retired at 60, then served for six years as lay Parish Administrator at St Columba's Church, Cupar, and Organist at St Matthew's Church, Auchtermuchty. I am now actively engaged in internet marketing. Every few weeks I meet up with David Carmichael (and sometimes also Harry Dott) for a walk in the country followed by a bar lunch. I have two sons, two daughters, and two grandsons.
