(Robert) Allan Webster died at the end of 2003. Aberfeldy Drama Club provided the following information from one of their programmes.
Allan was a stalwart of the club for many years and one of the longest serving members. Allan played many memorable roles for the club, although the highlights were when he combined his acting talents with his singing abilities. He will be best remembered for his roles of Fagin in "Oliver", Topol in "Fiddler on the Roof", the pleasure he gave to everyone in his varied performances and as Dermot in the "Galway Girl". Latterly he contributed financially to help the club acquire the Old Free Church.
They added the following by email:
Allan died of a heart attack. He suffered a massive heart attack a couple of years prior to his death and took early retirement from Breadalbane Academy at that time although he then enjoyed working part time in the Aberfeldy tourist office. He continued to live life to the full and enjoyed ski-ing, cycling and swimming. Sadly, it was at the swimming pool one morning when he suffered his second heart attack from which he died immediately.
Tom Cunningham played golf with Allan in August 2002 at Taymouth Castle where Allan was a member. Despite having not met since 1972, they recognised each other immediately.
