David Carmichael

After school I took my degree in Geography at Aberdeen followed by teacher training and Dip Ed also in the Silver City.

My first teaching job was at Dollar Academy in 1969 and I have been here ever since.... moving up to Head of Department for my last 16 years. I cut ties with Heriot's when involved with rugby and other teams....when coaching Dollar I could hardly favour Heriot's when the schools met!

I retired at 60...you could then! Thus I have now been retired for 6 years. I find the time shoots by so quickly....golf most mornings if dry; some gardening and cycling; Munro bagging often with Willie and Harry (not Harold today!); just hill climbing in the Ochils, Pentlands and Lomond Hills; or walking part of the Fife Coastal Path or round Loch Leven at Kinross.

I am married with two sons and a daughter all living in the Edinburgh/Dunfermline area.
