Preserve the Harvest! Fermenting Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits Workshop
What: Learn strategies and unique, exciting recipes for raw fermented preservation of the summer’s garden bounty.  Learn how to naturally and easily ferment vegetables for preservation, probiotic health benefits, amazing flavors, and creative gift making.  We'll make special versions of saurkraut, kimchee, and other vegetables, discuss which vegetables are best and safest to lacto-ferment, and which you need to be more careful with and why.  ​

Learn how your lymphatic system works, how it engages with other body systems, and some helpful hints regarding diet, herbs/supplements, and movement exercises to benefit this important body system that is a major part of your immune health and protection against cancer.

Grow Your Own Probiotic Medicine: Kombucha

Herbalist and ethnobotanist Laura Shiels will explain the magnificent health benefits of the probiotic living beverage Kombucha, offer you Kombucha “cocktails” to try, and teach you how to grow this amazing symbiotic organism yourself.   An informational/instructional booklet and what you need to grow your own lifetime supply of Kombucha will be provided.  Workshop will be followed by a Kombucha-cocktail party!
