Banana Bread

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 cup bananas (about 3 medium)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Oven preheated to 350°F

1.  Cream together the butter and sugar.
2.  Add to creamed mixture milk, egg, and bananas and mix well.
3. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.  Add these to the liquid mixture and mix well.
4.  Add in the vanilla and mix.
5.  Pour into pan of choice, loaf pan, muffin pan, etc.  and bake until golden brown and toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.  (1 hour for loaf pan, 25 minutes for muffins).
