Henley Town and Visitors' Regatta - Saturday 29 July 2017

Racing programme

The general format for 2017 is the same as in previous years, based on the existing British Rowing status scheme. Full details can be found in the Regatta Notice, which is available on the Competitors page.

The draw and timetable are published as soon as possible after entries close on the weekend before regatta day. We usually aim to have the files uploaded by the end of the weekend, so check back here on or after Monday 24 July.

Subject to the number of entries received, racing usually commences around 8.30am and runs continuously throughout the day, with the last final at around 7pm. There are events for many classes of boat and they are raced in two separate divisions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  The morning finals run up to lunchtime, and the afternoon division finals are at the end of the day: the precise timing of each division depends on the size of the entry, with the changeover between divisions usually occuring sometime between 1pm to 2:30pm. The timetable and draw showing all events and race times will be made available on the Competitors page.

Trophies

Most events have a dedicated trophy, and all crew members in every winning boat receive a presentation tankard to take home with them. The last race of the day is often the decider in determining the victor ludorum (the club that achieves the greatest success across the whole day) and the name of the winning club will be added to the Peter Sutherland Cup, part of our large collection of wonderful trophies, just some of which can be seen here. Please visit the trophy tent on the day see them all!
