WELCOME TO THE HENLEAZE BOOK HOME PAGE

About Us

At present THE HENLEAZE BOOK is calling for the support of the local community in Bristol and the surrounding areas to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2017.  More details to follow shortly.

The Henleaze Book aims to respond to the needs of people to build on/or improve facilities in its local community

This group started with four members in the late 1980s – Veronica Bowerman, Sylvia Kelly, Ron Lyne and Elizabeth Herring. Through the information we researched about the area and also facts provided by past and present residents they were able to compile the first dedicated publication solely about Henleaze Book in 1991. As there was such a lot of interest generated it sold out within a couple of weeks.

THE HENLEAZE BOOK continues to find other people who have information about the area or who want to know more about it. In fact, a second, much larger, edition was produced in 2004 followed by a free Heritage trail leaflet. Its website, facebook and twitter accounts are regularly updated to provide ongoing and new avenues to explore.
