Hello, It's nice to meet you!
I'm entering my third year here at Hemingford Public Schools teaching 7, 8 and 9 grade English. This will also be my third year as assistant speech coach.
I have a daughter and two precious grandchildren. Besides spending time with my family, I like to play golf, ride bikes, exercise, play volleyball and write short stories. I also can't pass up a sale on costume jewelry.
I have a bachelors degree in history, a bachelors in education with endorsements in history and English and a masters in education and curriculum with an emphasis in English. Besides substitute teaching for over 15 years in public and private schools both in the valley and in Lincoln County, I worked for 5 years at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, NE, as a writing and grammar tutor. This in particular has given me insight into what high school students need to know and master upon leaving high school to be successfully prepared for a college career and/or entering the workforce.
I was born in Lander, Wyoming, where my family ranched. When I was two, we moved to the Scottsbluff area where I was raised and my mother still lives. I participated in sports while in school. I played volleyball, softball, and I competed in rodeo, breakaway roping, goat tying and barrel racing. I lived for many years in the North Platte area.
