Surrounding and supporting single parents and widows with compassion.

The Facts...

Currently 31% of families in the US are lead by single parents a number that has more than tripled since the 1960's. The Atlantic

The core of the ministry ...

1.    Receiving - everyone needs help at times something as simple to advice to as necessary as financial assistance.
2.   Learning - everyone should seek opportunities to improve who they are whether spiritually, financially or personally. This ministry strongly believes in empowering not enabling.
3.  Giving - everyone should be constantly finding ways to give, of their time, their gifts or their talents.

The Mission...

Working in line with the mission of New Hope Community Church to advance God’s kingdom against the powers of darkness by loving God passionately and doing the work of Jesus through the power of His spirit, the Helping Hands Ministry is committed to compassionately helping the poor and oppressed by focusing on the needs of single parents and widows.

Working together as one we can accomplish so much more.

Working together we can accomplish so much                           more than working alone.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to bethrown out and trampled under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. "Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16

The Name...

With so many other names this ministry could have been called why Helping Hands? For me it is simple; we have two hands, one for giving and one for receiving. It is only when we find balance in the two that life is its most rewarding.

Hebrew word for hand is “yad” and although it is used to represent our physical hands, it is more often used to represent the power one has.  What better way to honor those who need help than by using the power, yad, hands God has blessed us with.

This ministry believes in empowering, providing a stepping stone for those in need surrounding and supporting them with compassion.
