Huda's children's food preference

posted Mar 1, 2013, 4:55 PM by Yu Lin

  • The children will eat meat but only ground beef, no chunks or big pieces of meat
  • Also they like chicken and prefer the breast part of it. (idea: shish tawook, chicken shawerma)
  • For ground beef Kofta is an option
  • Rice to be cooked with out noodles (shreeya) as some of us cook it (so just white plain rice)
  • They also like salad,  tabbouleh, and hummus
  • Home made Kobe is also welcomed,  stuffed grape leaves also.
  • The children like things such as green beans/ okra etc with the red tomato sauce and ground beef with rice on the side.
  • Chicken with potato, in a white/ yellow sauce (depends on the spices used) with rice on the side
  •  They do not like  vegetables in to a dish for example: spaghetti with the red sauce ground beef and no vegs in it, is a good thing. or Pasta with bashamel sauce (white sauce), pieces of chicken, and not vegs is another idea.
  • They do not like pizza, especially cheese pizza. Simple pizza with only veges may work.
  • No onions too
  • No spicy food

What you need to know when visiting Huda

posted Feb 28, 2013, 10:17 AM by Yu Lin   [ updated Mar 2, 2013, 7:23 PM ]

 1. Please call her (734-332-0791) in advance. If you are scheduled to visit, please let us know by email to or We will put your visiting info online for other sisters to schedule their visiting.

 2. Huda needs her rest and sleeps during the day when needed, so only 2 visits per week and no more than 30 min per visit in order not to tire her out. The best time to visit is after 11:30 am.
 3. Huda wants to protect her children and does not want any sisters discussing her medical situation/or other sensitive issues in front of children. She does not want visitors trying to provide info to the kids about their Moms condition, etc.; apparently they already have professional /experts helping the kids. If you have concerns/questions please email Sr. Karma.
 4. They would gladly welcome outings for the children on weekends! Generally just one, as the kids like to keep close to their Mom right now. (just make it a fun time and again don't bring up their mothers condition).

 5. Huda needs to work with social workers and lawyers to deal with her personal issue. Given that this business visiting is sometimes unscheduled, during visiting if you encountered the unscheduled business visiting, please give the priority to the business visiting. Thank you very much for your understanding!
