This page contains information about what you can expect from me and about what I may ask of you. Counselling is a joint venture and your commitment to the process is important.

I will work hard to develop an open, honest and trusting counselling relationship with you. I will do my best to provide a safe environment in which you can explore your situation. Together we will look at why you are seeking help and how we can approach your concerns; I will seek to understand how things are for you, and will help you to explore your feelings, fears, anxieties, your wishes and your hopes.

In this way I will try to help you to find a way forward that is right for you, developing understanding, insights, awareness or answers to the issues that you bring. I will accompany you through this process, support you on the way, and respect the decisions and choices you make, without judgement. It will be important that you feel supported and encouraged, and that you are free to express your feelings and work through them. Hopefully in this way we will reach the place where you want to be.

With the exception of the circumstances covered in our confidentiality agreement, I will not give advice or guidance, nor will I take action on your behalf or intervene in your life. I believe this would get in the way of finding what is truly right for you.
