Das Provinz Naturreservat Heidehof, eingebettet in eine Landschaft mit fantastischen Felsenformationen, atemberaubenden Panoramaaussichten und Pflanzen die es sonst nirgends auf der Welt gibt. Die Flora besteht zum grossen Teil aus Kalkstein Fynbos*, mit einem grossen Vorkommen an medizinischen Pflanzen.
Zudem haben Sie hier die Gelegenheit für vielfältige Vogelsichtungen. Seit Januar 2011 sind wir Teil des Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy.
Heidehof ist eine Fynbos* Farm welche typische Blumen und Pflanzen der Cap Region anpflanzt und erntet, ein Teil davon wird exportiert.
Durch ihre Arbeit haben sich die Schweglers viele Kentnisse zur Flora und Faune der Region angeignet. Gerne geben sie ihr Wissen an interessierte Besucher auf verschiedenen Wanderungen weiter. Unter "Angebote" finden Sie was Heidehof Ihnen bieten kann.

Heidehof Provincial Nature Reserve, has limestone fynbos, fantastic rock formations, panoramic views, endemic flower species that occur nowhere else in the world and coastal fynbos bird watching. There are also an abundance of medicinal plants.
Since January 2011 we are part of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy.
You can come for a Nature Walk with a guide. The ca. 3 hour walk will take you through plants that grow on limestone, neutral soil and deep acid sand. A approx.. l hour walk is available with a guide for people who can not walk so long or have disabilities. No wheelchairs as the soft sand does not allow it. You can picknic afterwards under the milkwoods.
The book on medicinal and other uses of the Western Cape coastal fynbos is available and moisturizing creams made from distilled fynbos plants that are good for your skin + Kelp and Aloe in 50 ml jars.I.e. Salvia africana lutea (dune sage, bruin salie, strandsalie). The flowers produced copious nectar and are pollinated by sunbirds. Medicinally the plant is anti bacterial, an astringent and for skin and scalp problems, together with Kelp and Aloe a nourishing moisturizing cream. No preservatives or colorants are used.
