About HECR Tulsa
The Higher Education Cultural Roundtable is a consortium made up of Tulsa area colleges and universities founded upon the recommendation of the 1990 Comprehensive Cultural Plan of the City of Tulsa.
Working with the Tulsa City-County Library and the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, the Roundtable promotes intellectual, artistic, and social discourse on member campuses and in the larger community, engages in cooperative programming, and shares resources and ideas. The Roundtable, which meets quarterly, publishes a semi-annual cooperative calendar of cultural events of each of the members.
The Mini-Grant Award was created in 2003 to fund "mini-grants" for K-12 arts and humanities activities in the Tulsa area. HECR representatives feel strongly that special cultural activities must continue to be a part of the students' curriculum, even in times of financial difficulty.
The Martin T. Letcher Student Patron of the Arts Award was created in 2010 for college students who attend higher education institutions in northeast Oklahoma. The scholarship awards are to assist with college tuition and expenses. Grants and awards are presented at a ceremony held during the spring of each year.
