Matt Pohl- High School and Jazz Band 

Matt is a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. This is his 14th year directing bands. He has been married to Kelly (Carmack) Pohl for 20 years and they have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Kacie. At Furman, Matt enjoyed playing in marching band, concert band, wind symphony, 2 brass quintets, orchestra, and jazz band. 

Andrew Medina- Middle School

Andrew Medina started playing trumpet at the age of 10. He got his first big break at the age of 17 when he began playing trumpet in various mariachi groups in El Paso, Texas. Following that experience, he had the opportunity to play lead trumpet and to record an album with a local act called Sonora Blu. The band played a variety of Latin genres some of them including Salsa, Cumbia, and Bachata. He got to tour with the band and to open up concerts for many well-known Latin artists. He currently works as a freelance trumpet player, and plays in various mariachi groups in the Little Rock area. He began his college education at the University of Texas at El Paso and is a recent graduate from the University of Arkansas at Little rock. During his time as a student, he has assisted with teaching concert band, marching band, and jazz band in both Arkansas and Texas.
