Writer Hat

In March of 2013, I began a professional blog.  I had been writing weekly emails to my staff since September, 2012, with teaching tips and tools each week, and after a while I realized that maybe more people would read them.  Each blog has a focus and is geared somewhat toward my staff and has principles from Project CRISS interwoven in them.
I have a variety of these blog-style poems that I wrote in 2007-2009.  This was a time in my life when words were extremely important and I had quite a bit to say about life and being a mother.  I keep them in a folder and return to them frequently when I feel inspiration to write again.

I began this in November, 2011, when our gifted language arts class joined NaNoWriMo.  As English Department chair and reading specialist for the school, I felt this would be a fun way for me to make connections with our gifted kids.  I don't get to work with this group often except for testing, and it was neat to work with some of them for a change.  This is a work in progress, but I am well over 30,000 words and will continue to work on it until it is completed.
