HEARTHSTONE EDUCATORS
"Education is not the filling of a pail,
but the lighting of a fire."
Hearthstone Educators is a
Christian based home school support group serving the Central Coast
cities of California. Our mission is two-fold: To provide parents
with encouragement, exhortation for excellence, and information about
home schooling, and to provide our children with educational and social
opportunities to supplement their home studies.
From August through May, Hearthstone Support Group meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at The Harbor Church, beginning at 7:00 p.m.For driving directions to our meeting site, click here. For general information email kliewer.bcjk@verizon.net. Please do not call Harbor Church for Hearthstone information. Sorry, no childcare is available at our support group meetings, though nursing moms are welcome to bring their infants, and children are welcome to attend with a parent. In addition to legal defense in home schooling issues, HSLDA has something for every home schooling family! From used curriculum swap boards to home schooling through high school and home schooling special needs students - HSLDA has it covered. Check them out at hslda.org. Another 'parent program' of Hearthstone is CHEA, Christian Home Educators Association of California. CHEA provides leadership support to Hearthstone leaders, and educational training opportunities to its members. CHEA's mission is to promote God's kingdom through home education, and they do that by helping families learn about home schooling, home schooling laws in California, and curriculum choices.
