Hurricane Season in the Mid-Atlantic region stretches from June 1 to November 30,
with the peak of the season for Virginia being August through October.
Hurricanes may bring high winds, heavy rains and flooding.
Is it a watch or a warning?
A hurricane watch means there is a threat of hurricane conditions
within the next 24-36 hours.
A hurricane warning means hurricane conditions are expected in less than 24 hours.
It is important to know the difference between a watch and a warning
so that you will have enough time to prepare.
Before the storm, Take precautions at home.
