Michiteru Koike, DC, DACBSP®, ATC
Background Dr. Michiteru Koike earned his Bachelor of Cross-cultural study degree from Kobe University-Kobe Japan, his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Otterbein College-Westerville OH, and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer Chiropractic College of West-San Jose.
At Otterbein College, he had an opportunity to have an internship with MLB Diamondbacks during the spring training season of 2005 as well as an internship with Grant Sports Medicine-Rehabilitation Center. At Otterbein, Michiteru became the first international student to be certified as an athletic trainer (ATC).
At Palmer College of Chiropractic West, he was the president of the Applied Kinesiology club and Gonstead club and spent over 1500 hours for postgraduate education. In 2008 he was honored to receive the Dr. George Goodheart Jr. Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Koike completed his clinical internship with Dr. Bloink D.C., the founder of the California Cranial Institute and specialist in Cranial-Dental Integration. In 2012 Dr. Koike is awarded the diplomate status from American Chiropractic Neurology Board and have qualified as a board certified chiropractic neurologist. Specialty
Dr. Koike is a Certified Applied Kinesiologist as well as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with many other postgraduate certifications. Because of his background as ATC, Dr. Koike specializes in Sports Medicine which including any kinds of sports injuries, functional rehabilitation/conditioning, any musculoskeletal condition involving extremities and clinical nutrition.
Although he has strength in Sports Medicine, he has also focused on the field of Functional Medicine, Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, Functional Endocrinology, and advanced diagnosis and management of autoimmune disorders utilizing cutting edge lab testing. His postgraduate education including AK, Gonstead, SOT, Crainiopathy, Activator, Chiropractic Neurology, TBM, Natural Healing, Neuro Emotional Technique(NET), Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, Functional Endocrinology, Clinical Neurochemistry, Active Release Technique(ART), Graston technique, Kinesiotaping, Functional Rehabilitation and more.
