In Spring 2012, HCSDC headed down to NYC once more!
Our activities included:
- Women's Center Stage 2012 Festival Directors Weekend A
- The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs at the Public, and a talkback with designer Seth Reiser
- A backstage tour of Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel
- A factory visit to the Rose Brand factory in Secaucus, NJ
In Spring 2011, a group of HCSDC members visited the studio and sets of Tony Award-winning Derek McLane '81. Our visit included tours of the Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Tony Award-nominated set of Anything Goes - visits featuring Moises Kaufman, Sutton Foster and Robin Williams.
In Fall 2010, Derek gave a series of set design workshops for Harvard undergraduates that were co-hosted by HCSDC and the OFA Learning from Performers program.
In Spring 2009, award-winning French stage and film set designer Pierre-Francois Limbosch gave a fascinating presentation on his innovative, multi-media designs to a small group of HCSDC members.
