Introduction to the product manager role and to PM 101's course objectives/structure/requirements

  1. Be prepared to describe what you hope to learn from PM101 and to discuss the role of the product manager, based on the readings above.
  2. If your startup idea was selected as a course project and you do not yet have a teammate, be prepared to deliver a 2-minute pitch (no slides necessary) describing: a) your target customer; b) the unmet customer needs you will address; c) the differentiated solutions you are exploring to meet those needs; and d) the status of your venture (how long you've been working on it, with whom, what research you've completed, etc.).
  3. To help students who do not yet have a project choose one, Prof. Eisenmann will spend some time describing HBS IT project options.
