Everyone was young once!
Remember those days of old fashioned fun just doing things outside? The exorbitant joy of the discovery
of something new, something different.
That's the wonder that we see in the eyes of our young participants as they learn to paddle a river,
pitch a tent, ride a bike, plant a tree, clean up a park, or see a baby fawn in the woods.
Take a look at our trip photographs and relive those sweet moments of exploration for yourself!
Then, please help Harrisburg Inner City Outings continue its work to provide more opportunities for our
city's youth by becoming a volunteer or donating dollars to help fund their lunches, transportation
and outdoor gear so we can take them on even more outings!
The Harrisburg ICO program provides youth participants with ongoing outdoor activities, a supportive
group of peers, and consistent mentoring. Participants develop leadership, interpersonal and
problem-solving skills along with increased self-esteem through their active involvement with nature.
ICO adult volunteers benefit from environmental based interaction with children of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and from the opportunity to give something back to the Harrisburg community.
