Remember those days of old fashioned fun just being outside? The exorbitant joy of the discovery of something new, something different. That's the wonder that we see in the eyes of  our young participants as they learn to paddle a river, pitch a tent, ride a bike, plant a tree, clean up a park, or find a heart shaped leaf or a turtle in the woods.

Take a look at our trip photographs and relive your own sweet moments of youthful exploration! Then, please help Harrisburg ICO continue its work to provide more opportunities for our city's youth by becoming a volunteer or donating dollars to help fund their lunches, transportation and outdoor gear so we can offer even more outings!

The Harrisburg ICO program provides youth participants with ongoing outdoor activities, a supportive group of peers, and consistent mentoring. Participants develop leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills along with increased self-esteem through their active involvement with nature.

ICO adult volunteers benefit from environmental based interaction with children of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and from an opportunity to give something back to the Harrisburg community.
