Doyle Wegner, Board Member

Doyle has lived in the Bay Area most of his life except for a period of 10 years when he lived in Japan. He attended Chabot College and then The California College Art where he received a BFA in Fine Art in 1971. After graduation he worked for a sign painter for a short time, did ad production work for department stores and shopping newspapers, and did product illustration. While living in Japan he supported himself teaching English conversation but in his fee time studied print making and Japanese ink and brush painting (Sumi-e). After returning to California, he was employed by the East Bay Regional Park District and worked there as a graphic designer/illustrator for 19 years. Many of the trail-side interpretive panels in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties were designed by him. Doyle works mainly in acrylic but also uses watercolor, and colored pencil. He also produces digital art using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Recently he enjoys painting landscapes in pastel.
