Karla was born and raised in Hayward.  She grew up learning to love and appreciate art in its many forms, initially through writing and dance, and later through drawing and painting.  Once she began to delve into the world of painting, it became her passion. She studied Fine Arts at Chabot College, and has been actively creating artwork for the past 15 years.  She has displayed her work at the various Hayward Arts Council galleries, as well as The Sun Gallery, HAHS, Snappy’s Cafe, Casa Peralta, Adobe Art Gallery, Fremont Art Association, and Sanchez Contemporary.  Karla joined HAC in 2016.  In addition to showing her artwork, Karla served as curator for the Foothill Gallery for two years.  In late 2018, she will begin curating the Elmwood Gallery at the new Hayward Public Library. Karla is a Library Assistant and has worked with the City of Hayward since 2003.

Hola! My name is Adolfo Hernandez. I was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and am now living in Hayward, California. I have always loved to draw since I was a kid. I am a self-taught artist learning from comics, art books, and favorite artist and trying different types of media. But my favorite media to use are markers with color pencils and charcoal. I am always trying to learn and improve my artwork every day. Currently, I am in art school at Cal State East Bay. But you can also find me at Delta Art and Tattoo in Pittsburg, California where I work fulltime and now taking new clients to design my own artwork and putting it on skin.  I love where my art career is taking me and hope to continue my adventures!!!
