2018 OCC Cardinal Division Champions!

Spring 2018 Training Opportunities

Lifting. We’ll lift every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school (2:40p-4:15p) starting after spring break and running through the spring; the last week of school will be max-out week.  We have an OUTSTANDING strength program here at Hayes! With 9 full weeks (35 lifts), Fall is our most important lifting phase. It’s vital that you give RELENTLESS EFFORT to get stronger. Wrestling is far easier when you are strong. Understand this: the grind of lifting is not easy. It’s easy to find an excuse to not show up.  However, the ELITE will commit to our strength plan fully...and they will not only get PHYSICALLY STRONGER, but also their ACCOUNTABILITY, MENTAL TOUGHNESS, and GRIT will be superior to others.

Competition Nights. These are free live wrestling nights run every Wednesday starting in April and running through July from 6:30-8p at various schools. Those locations will be released soon! Check Twitter @Coach_Heff

Cardinals Wrestling Club. This is the spring freestyle and Greco Roman training opportunity your coaches support. CWC is run out of Otterbein University. Last year there were over 150 CWC members from central Ohio; there was competition and appropriate technique instruction for every level of high school wrestler. There is an option for every level of wrestler. Sign up online here:

TEAM OHIO takes 4 teams of wrestlers to compete in the AAU Junior Olympic Games, which is a week-long, dual-style freestyle competition. This year the Games are held in Des Moines, IA in late July. Delaware Hayes also hosts the JO training camp that leads to the Games. Click on the 2018 AAU Team Ohio informational flier at the bottom of this page.

USA Wrestling Events: Freestyle and Greco Roman Wrestling. If you want to be an elite wrestler, you must compete in the olympic styles of Greco-Roman and freestyle. They will exponentially help your folkstyle wrestling. Webpage with calendars and forms: http://www.usawrestling-ohio.org/
