Fall 2017 Training Opportunities

Lifting. We’ll lift every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school (2:40p-4:15p) beginning August 21 to October 26; the last week will be max-out week.  We have an OUTSTANDING strength program here at Hayes! With 9 full weeks (35 lifts), Fall is our most important lifting phase. It’s vital that you give RELENTLESS EFFORT to get stronger. Wrestling is far easier when you are strong. Understand this: the grind of lifting is not easy. It’s easy to find an excuse to not show up.  However, the ELITE will commit to our strength plan fully...and they will not only get PHYSICALLY STRONGER, but also their ACCOUNTABILITY, MENTAL TOUGHNESS, and GRIT will be superior to others.

Competition Nights. These are free live wrestling nights run every Wednesday starting in September and running through early November from 6-7:30p at various schools. Sept. 6 Hilliard Davidson; Sept. 13 Upper Arlington; Sept. 20 Dublin Scioto; Sept. 27 Delaware Hayes; Oct. 4 Westland HS; Oct. 11 Westerville North; Oct. 18 Hilliard Davidson; Oct. 25 Delaware Hayes; Nov. 1 Gahanna Lincoln.

Bread & Butter Drill Sessions. These are voluntary 15-minute hard drill sessions in the neutral position. Along with Coach Heff, you’ll determine your 3 best offensive attacks on your feet and one feet-to-back move. It great cardio, great muscle memory, and a great way to get in the extra mat time to make your season successful. Schedule your time to roll with your partner with Coach Heff at lifting.

Collin Palmer Technique Clinics. For 8 days this fall, 4x state champion Collin Palmer will come to Hayes to give an hour long neutral technique session. Plan on being there. IT’S FREE! See Coach Heffernan for exact times.
