2015 Annual Meeting Evaluation Survey: An online survey to assess the effectiveness of the 36th annual meeting of the Hawaii Sociological Association will be available to individuals, who attended the meeting.  Participation in the survey is highly encouraged, as the information provided will help the executive committee plan a successful meeting for 2016.



Distinguished Graduate Paper Award - Call for Papers: The Hawaii Sociological Association is pleased to announce that the Distinguished Graduate Paper Award will be presented at the 2015 annual meeting of the Hawaii Sociological Association. The Distinguished Graduate Paper Award recognizes a graduate student who has produced a research paper that is of high professional quality. The award includes a $50.00 honorarium. Eligibility: To be eligible for the award, the paper must (a) demonstrate a high level of scholarship in the field of sociology (or a field closely related to sociology), (b) be written by a graduate student, (c) have been written or substantially revised within the last year, (d) be presented at the upcoming HSA meeting, and (e) be unpublished. Nominations: To nominate a paper for the award please submit a copy of the completed paper (with an abstract) to the Hawaii Sociological Association via email at hawaiisoc@gmail.com. Hardcopies will not be accepted. Deadline: The deadline for nominations is January 5, 2015.
