 Ulana Me Ka Lokomaika'i
Weaving Retreat


We are pleased to announce the 2011 Ulana Me Ka Lokomaika’i

retreat is being held at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel from Friday,

October 7 to Monday, October 10 (a holiday for some).

This year we are offering three classes: 1) cup and saucer hat

for advanced weavers, 2) honu for beginning and intermediate weavers,

and 3) critters (mouse, frog and rabbit) also for beginning and intermediate weavers.


as a exciting extra bonus  ......

Gwen Kamisugi will be teaching how to make the crownless hat.  There is no fee, but you must bring your own lauhala and be an experienced weaver.  The class will begin on Friday at 1pm and last as long as it takes for you to complete the hat.  More details will be given when the class roster is finalized, it is first come first served.

As always, everyone is welcome to come and enjoy being surrounded

by all the accumulated knowledge of our group.

Bring extra lauhala in case impromptu lessons are given.



A daily room rate of $99.15 (includes all taxes) will be divided

 equally among the attendees sharing a room. 

 Each room can accommodate up to 4 persons.


 Fees:     Daily attendance:  $10 – members  $15 – non-members

                Entire retreat (4 days): $30 – members  $50 – non-members


                   These fees cover the continental breakfast,

                    snacks and water.

           Meals:     Continental breakfast will be available from 7:30 am

                       on Saturday, Sunday and Monday


All other meals will be on your own.


Banquet:                Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 6:30 pm

                                Cost:  $30– members  $35 – non-members
