Club Night - 14th June 2012

Members brought along some examples of their current work.

Robin has now made three pairs of cylinders for his O Gauge LMS Duchess,
a slide valve version, a piston valve version and now a double piston valve type
as shown above.
The inlet and exhaust each have their own piston valve.  These fine pieces
of miniature engineering gave rise to much interest and discussion.

Richard showed parts for his 5" gauge GER/LNER Y4 0-4-0.

David brought his 7mm/ft 14mm gauge layout, which is under construction.
He said it wasn't really model engineering, but no-one minded!

Bob looks pleased - the Society's loco "Gillie" has just passed its steam test.

September 2011 Social Steam-Up Afternoon

The frequent showers that were forecast mostly passed us by, and although the sky was grey and at times threatening,
we escaped with just one light shower.  A good turnout and interested and welcome visitors meant we had an enjoyable
and successful afternoon.

Here is Chairman David's Sweet Pea raising steam.

Much activity in the steaming bay around Dennis's Duchess.
Dinah is busy serving tea and home made cakes from the refreshments table.

Bob's splendid "Rob Roy" was on show.

The Three Wise Men discuss a problem with Dennis's Duchess.

James ran his "Netta" most of the afternoon.

Full steam ahead behind David and "Sweet Pea"

Richard driving James's "Netta".

At the end of the day........

September 2009 Social Steam-Up Afternoon

Our social steam-up day in September 2009 was blessed with a fine, sunny and warm day.
Here some Society members enjoy a ride behind the Society's petrol loco; Chairman David is the driver.

The September 2010 social steam-up day was not blessed with such kind weather. It was grey and damp
with a cold wind.  That's probably why there weren't any photographs taken that day.
