The Crofton Street times operates in Crofton street, Echuca, Victoria, Australia. It serves out 18 copies from the corner store to number 33 at the end of the street although it is avalible by E-mail. There have been 21 editions so far the first being made on Saturday 17th March 2007. It is a weekly newspaper and the editorial crew consists of Harry McLaurin (13) who lives in Number 25 Crofton street and Jenai Knight (18) who writes the Horoscopes every week. Jenai lives with Harry as she is his cousin and is an apprentice as a chef, Rhiannon Morgan (13)who helps distribute the newspaper on occasions and Kay McLaurin who is the pictorial editor. On the first page it is more formal with infomation while on the second page it is less formal with the horoscope and comic but it also contains 1 more article and the sports section containg 3 articles. Then on the third page there is an opinion section asking people about big issues and then on that page there is a 2 week weather forecast. Occasionally in the opinion section there will be a 'celebrity encounters' section showing pictures of Crofton Street residents and celebrities. In the 21 editions made so far there have been  98 articles and counting as the next newspaper is made and they include:

  • Edition 1: Is it too much?- An article about the power lines that plague Crofton Street and the rest of Echuca but is it all too much?
  • Edition 2: Crofton Weekly- About what the newspaper does and who its made by and what will be in there in the future.
  • Edition 2: What rubbish- What is happening down the bush? there is too much rubbish coming from the Echuca High school.

  • Edition 2: Heavens Opened- About the great rain that was expirenced on Monday and how it might help out the drought.
  • Edition 2: What was it?- An article about this strange old structure down the bush which no one seems to know what it is or was.

  • Edition 3: Sports central- About all the sports that go on, on the oval across the road including tennis and the annual Murray to Moyne cycling race.
  • Edition 3: Conspiracy Street- Crofton street has a big round about on the end but after that there is a bush track so is crofton street a street or a court.

  • Edition 3: Filthy Fountain- The local fountain in Crofton Street has too much mould and moss on it and no one has cleaned it.
  •  
  • Edition 3: new logo- a small article about the new logo of a corella bird on the cover page which lives on the oval across the road.

  • Edition 3: profile Number 25- An article about the history of number 25 crofton street with all it previous owners and what they did.

  • Edition 4: found and Lost- about Kay and James of Crofton Street who were out walking their dog Xena when they found a tawny frog mouth that had been hurt.

  • Edition 4: Our sister newspaper, the Wyuna Gabble- about a child newspaper on a farmmade for the family in the 1950's and the editor lives now in crofton street.

  • Edition 5: Fire works!- The massive fireworks that took place on the river at the end of Crofton street on Easter Monday.

  • Edition 6: Rest in peace our delicious sweets- A article about a local sweet shop that burnt down completly near Crofton Street and a burnt out car on the corner of Crofton Street.

  • The newspaper also contains a horoscope, a comic off the Internet,a sports section containing 3 articles, an A4 size local movie bochure, an opinion section with 4 peoples opinion and a two week weather forcast which completes the newspaper being 3 pages. it has also got a 'brief news' section saying all street, local, national and world news in brief. In the opinion section there is also a joke and quote of the week as well as an odd box. It is printed at Rich River Irrigation where James McLaurin (My dad) works and in the editions has contained small things like facts. One of the Facts said that Crofton Street is the only street in Echuca to stretch from the Campaspe River to the Murray River and about the strange red patches in the Carters trees from Autumn also a small article in edition 9 about The Crofton Street Times not being owned by Rupert Murdoch's media empire. Also one about the ducks living on number 19's nature strip. It is delivered every Saturday and will continue to publish until further notice.
