Aubrey Spalton Match and Simultaneous Display

I forgot to mention in my recent newsletter that the annual Aubrey Spalton Memorial Match against York will be held at Apley Grange on Monday 23rd April. Margaret Rowley is organising this event and to stand any chance of winning we need all the club's top players to turn out - please could you confirm your availability to Margaret if you have not already done so (I can pass messages on).

Many will be aware that Grandmaster Aaron Summerscale is giving a simultaneous display at Harrogate Conservative Club on Sunday 27th May (the day after the dinner). Having the three events taking place in quick succession should make for an excellent week for local chessplayers. Places for the simultaneous are limited so if you wish to play please let Richard White know as soon as possible.
