MELA 2007

ADITI's MELA is an annual cultural show celebrating diversity and culture originatiing from South Asia. This is presented at the show in the form of skits, dances and live music.

This year's MELA show will be held on Saturday April 7th, in the Strong Auditorium at the University of Rochester at 2:00pm.

The annual Mela dinner (all you can eat, catered by Thali of India) will begin at 5:30pm in the Douglass Dining Hall at the University of Rochester.

Student Tickets:
$3 for the cultural show  and $11 dollars for the show and dinner

General Public Tickets:
$5 for the cultural show and $13 for the show and dinner

Show and Dinner tickets are available for presale only at the UR Common Market and India Market (in the Win-Jeff plaza)
Show only tickets are available for presale and at the door


This year's MELA MELTDOWN will be held at The German House from 10:30pm - 2:30am.

Tickets ($3) will be available only at the door, with a UR student ID

Buses from ITS will begin rounds at 10:15pm and  stop at 2:30am


Pre-Mela Week Activities:

All Pre-Mela week activites are open to everyone, free, and most importantly fun!

Tuesday, April 3rd
Come check out India's version of Hollywood at the Bollywood Hungama Tuesday in Hirst Lounge (Wilson Commons) from 11:30am - 1:30pm

Enjoy Indian Classical Music, including that of the sitar and table, Live, and performed by UR students from 11:00pm - 1:00am at the Hillside Cafe in the Susan B. Anthony building

Wednesday, April 4th
Be at the steps of Rush Rhees Library at 11:45am for a free frisbee toss to get this years MELA Frisbee!
