About

I'm a US-based science writer, currently working at Dartmouth College, with a joint appointment in the Office of Communications and the Department of Computer Science.

As a freelance writer, I have written stories for Scientific American, Nature, Science, Physics, and The Wire. In 2019, I received the Logan Science Journalism Fellowship from the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, MA. Prior to freelancing, I managed science communication for IndiaBioscience, a life science outreach organization at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bangalore, India. I wrote and edited science news and feature articles, in addition to managing website content and social media.

Over the years, I have also written news stories and press releases for University/Institute websites in India and the US

I have a soft corner for stories about research at the intersection of physics and biology. I enjoy talking to scientists both about their science and their career paths.

My background is in experimental physics. In my research, I used spectroscopic techniques, including Raman and neutron scattering, to reveal the structure and behavior of materials when they were subjected to extreme physical conditions such as very low temperatures or high pressures.
