5. The Team

The project is led by Jonathan Finch of the University of York who has been researching estate landscapes, including Harewood, for a number of years.

The Team is made up of Nicky Milner (Director of Excavation); Timur Tatlioglu (AHRC Funded PhD student working on the Harewood landscape) and Leslie Johansen-Salters (PhD student); Steve Ashby, Ed Blinkhorn, Aleks McClain, Hayley Saul, Paul Stamper and Rachael Sturgeon. Ben Gourley and Anthony Masinton co-ordinated the resistivity survey with Timur who also digitised the historic maps.

We are also very grateful to Ailsa Mainman of York Archaeological Trust, who looked at our pottery finds, Jeremy Kemp who looked at the glass, and Terry O'Connor who looked at the bone.

The dig was made possible by the enthusiasm of the staff and Trustees at Harewood, particularly David and Diane Lascelles, Anna Robinson, Ruby Wills, Jen Auty, Heather Griffiths and the all the grounds support team. Thank you!
