Control Signal Information



We only sold one 'barebones' system so we aren't making them available anymore but the info here does describe the signals used to control the amplifier and may be useful to builders trouble shooting or hacking the amplifier.

There is a 20 Pin header on the amp PCB with all of the control signals.  Here is the pinout:

 6 IN 3.3V to 15V selects 30/40M filter, <2V 30/40M not selected
 7 IN 3.3V to 15V selects 80M filter, <2V 80M not selected
 8 IN 3.3V to 15V activates PTT, <2V amplifier bypassed
 9 IN 3.3V to 15V selects Drain Tuning Cap #1, <2V Drain Tuning Cap #1 not selected
 10 IN 3.3V to 15V selects Drain Tuning Cap #2, <2V Drain Tuning Cap #2 not selected
 11 GND Ground
 12 OUT COR, open drain, low when carrier detected
 13 GND Ground
 14 OUT FWD Power (Analog ~2.7V = 50W)
 15 GND Ground
 16 OUT RFL Power (Analog ~2.7V = 50W)
 17 GND Ground
 18 OUT Temperature = 0-5
 19 GND Ground
 20 OUT VCC = 0-5V Analog signal

If no other filters are selected the 160M filter is connected.

No Drain Tuning Caps are used on 160, 80, 40 or 6 meters.

Drain tuning cap #1 is used on 10, 12, 17 and 15 meters.

Drain tuning cap #2 is used on 20 meters.

Both drain tuning caps are used on 30 meters.
