Radical Generation Youth Group Doughnut Sales

    The Radical Generation Youth Group will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts the morning of Saturday, May 31st, at Wal-Mart and Big Lots.
    
    They are also taking advance orders and will deliver them on Saturday as well.  The price is only $7.00 a box, which is less than the retail price of $7.99 and you don't have to pay tax or drive to Johnson City.

Team Kids End Spring Meetings with Cookout

The Team Kids youth group for the younger youth ended their spring meetings with a cookout and program at the farm of Randy and Renda Davenport.  They along with their parents and the Radical Generation Youth Group, gathered on top of the hill for a final program and meal before adjourning for the summer.
    
The Team Kids will resume meeting every Sunday evening this August when school is back in session.

Vacation Bible School Meeting

A planning meeting for Vacation Bible School will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, at 7:00 at the church   Everyone interested in helping with VBS or in just learning more about this year's theme and activities are encouraged to attend.

Radical Generation Youth Group Plan Famine

     The annual 24-hour famine of the Radical Generation Youth group will be held this Friday and Saturday, May 23rd and 24th.

Memorial Day Singing Cancelled

The Memorial Sunday Singing that was scheduled for Sunday, May 25th has been cancelled due to the illness of the group leader.

Regular evening services will be held at 5:00 with speaker Debbie Cogburn.

Fundraiser Breakfast and Silent Auction Great Success!

        The fundraiser breakfast and silent auction that took place on  May 3rd was a huge success.  The church and the Ruritan combined for the event to raise money for Nathan Reynolds and Davey Fillers, donor and recipient of a recent kidney transplant.
         The event raised around $7000 for the two men to help with their ongoing recovery expenses.

Easter Events Well Attended

           Hardins Chapel celebrated Easter with a variety of Holy Week services and events.
         On Friday evening, several people gathered for a Good Friday Service.
         On Saturday afternoon, the community center was filled with people who came for the annual Easter Egg hunt and party that is co-hosted by the church and the Ruritan.
         Easter morning began with a Sunrise Service at 6:30 where around 57 people gathered to sing, pray, listen to Bill and watch the sun rise over the graveyard.
         After the sunrise service, the Ruritan provided a buffet breakfast.
         During the morning worship there was special music provided by Lydia Cogburn and part of the Hardins Chapel Wind and Strings Quintet joined the choir and also provided the offertory music.  24 visitors bumped up our attendance that day to 114 in attendance.

UMW Plan church-wide birthday party

       The United Methodist Women have begun planning a special covered dish lunch after Sunday School on Sunday, July 27th.
        They will having a churchwide birthday lunch with everyone divided up according to their birthday months.

2nd Harvest Mobile Food Pantry Changing Days

       The 2nd Harvest Mobile Food Pantry that has been at the church on the first Wednesdays at 11:00 will be moving after May to the 4th Mondays at 9:00.
        The 2nd Harvest works with the church to give away groceries every month to those in need.  There is usually between 60 and 70 families there every month.
         The cost to the church is $5.00 per family and a $25.00 gas fee.  It is funded by donations taken up during the monthly communion service.
          If anyone would like to contribute, they may send a check to the church.
