Outstanding Moscow Tour!

We booked a 6-hour City Tour by Minivan following our Viking River Cruise in August from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Our wonderful guide, Ludmila, met us at the pier and quickly devised a plan to show us sights that would not duplicate what we had already seen with Viking. We especially wanted to visit the Novodevichy Convent, which was beautiful and fascinating. We not only learned about the history of the convent but also details about the Russian Orthodox church and faith. We also visited Victory Park, an impressive open air memorial to Russia’s victories over Napoleon and in the First and Second World Wars. Our tour also included photo stops at Moscow State University, a Stalinist style skyscraper at Sparrow Hill, and the Cosmonaut Museum. Our final stop took us to Soviet Park, where we enjoyed seeing Russian families on a Sunday afternoon strolling about this enormous park, larger than the principality of Monaco, with its many Soviet style pavilions, fountains, and amusement park. Throughout our tour, Ludmila provided a wealth of information on Russian history, culture, lifestyle, and art. We had a wonderful day with Ludmila and highly recommend her and Happy Moscow Tours. We also thank Natalia, the office manager, for the excellent communication, suggestions, and flexibility in setting up our tour and airport transfer according to our wishes.

Moscow Kremlin and Soviet Moscow tours!

Ludmila and Joël are both great guides. They know a lot about russian traditions, russian history and Moscow and have an answer to almost every question. They adapted to special requests. Me and my son had a great time with them. I would book them again, they were on time and everything worked.

The best of Moscow

We want to thank Natalya, who was incredible and high qualified tour guide, we had a luck to book with. Kremlin, Armoury, Diamond fund, all Red Square and other districts of Moscow, everywhere we went she was such a joy for us. She is a storehouse of Russian history, was able to explain the history to our kids and adapt the stories to all of us, from 6 years old child up to 77 years old members of our big family (12 people). She was brilliant! Highly recommended!

High quality as always!

Our guide Ludmila was excellent, she could change the route on the fly, if we wanted to change the itinerary. Helped us to find the exclusive souvenirs, and showed us the places known only by locals. The restaurants she chose for us were always excellent. It seems like she knows everything about Moscow and Russian history. Organized the tickets to concerts we wanted to go and helped with airport transfers. It is not my first time I booked with Happy Moscow Tours, everytime I come to Moscow for business, I book with Ludmila, and she is simply the best. Thank you for the great experience of Moscow.

We had not been to Russia before, and were there for a long weekend. We arrived on the Friday evening, so I booked a 6hr tour for the Saturday and I'm so glad I did!
Moscow can be very confusing for a non native, but your tour guide (Caio in our case) meets you in your hotel lobby and already has metro tickets for you, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Caio was the perfect host, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about Moscow. No matter what we asked him, he could give us really good information about the history of the city.
We did a 6 hour walk and broke this up with a sit down meal in Gum, and a drink later on in Arbat, but it's flexible and you can stop as often as you like - your guide has a walk mapped out, but if you want to have more stops, he or she will just tailor it to suit.
We saw so many sights in the city centre, and also visited Lenins tomb - again, if you want to see inside any buildings, this is your choice and your guide will allow for this (not the Kremlin though - you need a day in there!)
We found it incredibly useful to have someone with us while we got used to the Metro, the people, the food, the drink etc.....also, we went in a souvenir shop and we were offered much better prices than the price label. I think this was because we were with a Russian speaking tour guide. I bought a russian doll, hand painted with 10 nesting dolls, the label price was 6200 rubels, and I bought it for 2500 rubels - that's a huge saving, and actually about half the price of the tour!! Though I can't say for sure that this was because we with a tour guide, I think it may have been an influence....
Also, we asked Ciao if he could help us with our metro tickets for the remaining time we were in Moscow, and he sorted this out for us, asking at the desk and buying our tickets for us. Again, small things like this were just so much help to us and made our trip so much easier.
I would definately recommend that you book a tour through this company, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed - if we hadn't done this, I know our trip wouldn't have been so good, and we wouldn't have learnt so much about the history of this fantastic city.

This was my first trip to Moscow and I wanted to see as much as possible in the few days I was here. I booked our trip a couple of months ahead of time and decided to do the six hour walk.
From the start communication was excellent and everything was sorted out really easily.
Our tour guide (Tina) met us exactly on time at our apartment and proceeded to take us around all the sights - Red Square, St Basil's, Church of Christ the Saviour, the metro stations etc. She was absolutely brilliant - her knowledge of everything we visited was amazing, as was her English.
It made our day so much more enjoyable having someone with us who could explain what we were looking at and give us brief snippets of history at the same time.
She really went above and beyond what we expected - she even taught us how to pronounce some useful Russian phrases and how to navigate the Metro!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this kind of walking tour to anyone visiting Moscow for the first time.
An amazing first full day in Moscow thanks to Tina!! :)

In June my wife, daughter and son-in-law visited Moscow at the tail-end of the Viking riverboat cruise from St. Petersburg. Viking took us on sight-seeing excursions for 2 days but we had one day free. We hired Happy Moscow for that day. Instead of a walking tour we wanted a guide and driver since the places we wanted to visit were not very close. The guide was Ludmila, who was perfect since she spoke excellent English and was well versed in Moscow sights and Russian history, architecture and arts. We especially wanted to visit 2 cathedrals that we had seen only from the outside on the Viking city tour, St. Basil's and Christ the Saviour, and they were spectacular. We also visited the Tretyakov New Museum and enjoyed seeing relatively new Russian art (not classical). We don't recall everything that we saw but it was a very enjoyable day and we recommend Happy Moscow highly.

We just want to let you know that Maria was a superb guide. Her English is excellent, as well as her knowledge of Russian history. We would highly recommend Maria.
Thank you for setting up our tour so that we could work around the tours provided by Viking.
Best regards,
Mary J.

Joel, our tour guide, Did an amazing job. For starters he speaks spanish, for is being Mexican, that was a super plus! But not only that, the most important thing was how kindly he traeted us and how well he explained each place we visited in detail. Thks Joel! We enjoyed it very much! Gracias!

We had a lovely day with Irina on the 6 hour walking tour. Very friendly guide, informative and very interesting. The pace of the tour was very comfortable on a very hot day. We stopped for lunch in a traditional restaurant which we enjoyed very much. We would definitely recommend this tour. We also went on a 3 hour Metro tour with Irina, which we highly recommend. The metro stations are amazing and we would never have managed to negotiate the stations by ourselves. Not to be missed. If you can only do one then definitely go for the metro tour. Happy Moscow tours also picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel and also return trip to the airport. Everything went perfectly. Thank you Irina for showing us Moscow. Jeff and Sandra

I dont do tours very often, because I like to explore the cities in a more free way. I found this as a great surprise. Joel our guide had a mayor knowledge on every history aspect of the sites we visited, and the virtue of making it fun, relax, and easygoing . definitely it was the best way to explore the city, take pictures and know local places that you won't find on a tourist guide.

Our Viking River Cruise itinerary included one free day in Moscow; while optional Viking tours were available, we chose a private tour with Happy Moscow Private Tours. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our guide was Maria. She met us on the pier by our ship. Our goal was to complement the included tours offered by Viking. Natalia, manager at Happy Tours, was very prompt in helping us to devise a plan which wouldn't duplicate sights we would see with Viking. We designed an all day tour which met our needs, & enabled us to maximize our time in Moscow.
Maria was fluent in English, and extremely knowledgeable in Russian history.
We recommend Happy Moscow Private Toyrs!

We had a fantastic 4 hour private tour with Maria. I am fascinated by the communist period of Russia's history, so the entire 4 hours was focused on communist Russia. Shortly after Maria met us at our hotel, I discovered that she had a vast knowledge of Russian history. In fact, she turned out to be a historian! Any question that I had during the tour was answered in such detail that I was left with my head spinning (in the best kind of way). Maria was really fantastic, and she gave us the best tour I could ever imagine.

I can't think of any way that the tour could have been better. This is a class act company, and if their other guides are anything like Maria, then wow... You're in for a treat!

Thank you Happy Moscow! You really lived up to your name and made us VERY HAPPY! Spaseeba!

We wanted to see as much as possible and learn about Moscow history, its evolution, its people and its way of life, and hence we booked "All highlights tour in 1 Day including Kremlin and Tretyakov gallery" with Happy Moscow Tours and what a good choice that was but it would have been nothing without out wonderful guide, Natalya.
From the beginning, she was welcoming, organised, helpful and we immediately felt in good hands, and we weren't wrong! She had a lovely way of dealing with all of us, big group of 16 people, no matter what age each participant was, and all of us had her personal attention. She was fun, lively, very well informed, we loved her pictures from the past, and very clearly loved her city and loved showing us around. She made time to answer all of our questions and had done her research thoroughly - she was a real pleasure to be with
Natalya and this tour was a highlight of out trip to Moscow and we have already highly recommended her to friends - she was THAT good !We would like to thank Natalya for doing such a good job and making her tour such a good event for us.

Just returned from our Moscow tour. We were lucky to have Ludmila as our guide. She was excellent, balancing with history information and entertainment stories. We had very delicious lunch at the Russian restaurant, tried different drinks and dishes. Everything was very well organized. The most important is a guide who loves her work and her city. Reasonable pricing and from door to door services makes this compnay more attractive. Highly recommended!

Although we were in Moscow just 4 days, it was one of the most remarkable trips. We didn't know how to plan our leisure time in Moscow, which places are better to visit and how to deal with weather, which unfortunately wasn't as warm as we expected.
So we decided to rely on Happy Moscow tours and I can say it was right decision.
We ordered 4 tours: Night Moscow, Must See, Metro tour and Izmailovo Kremlin. Our guide was Irina, very knowledgable and interested in her profession, she made our trip enjoyable.
Natalya, manager of Happy Moscow tours, also helped a lot. She said that we would better choose metro tour and Night Moscow tour by car the days when it was raining.
So I would highly recommend Happy Moscow tours and Irina as a tour guide if you want to spend unforgettable time in Moscow!

Для нашего иностранного коллеги из Англии, мы заказали экскурсию у Happy Moscow Tours.
Happy Moscow Tours!

My husband and I had two layovers in Moscow on our way to and from Turkey. We did two tours with Happy Moscow -the first was "Night Moscow" where we got to see the beauty of Moscow at night where we were taken around Moscow and its suburbs by taxi, and the second was "Must See", where we got to walk in and around Moscow and get into all its finer details by day - including riding thr Metro and seeing the glorious Metro stations! Both our tour guides in these 2 tours were fantastic -they not only showed us places, but through their wonderful tales about Moscow, the took us through a journey and it felt like we were a part of it all! That's not all-our guides also helped us buy little mementos and keepsakes and took pictures of us to remind us of our journey. Moscow is a gloriously beautiful city and I would love to tour Moscow again-and when I do, it will definitely be with Happy Moscow tours. Not only that, I also recommend Happy Moscow tours to everyone who plans on touring Moscow. Their service was wonderful from day one and they really helped us to plan out trip and make the best out of our time in Moscow. I thank the manager and our tour guides at Happy Moscow for their immessurable help and fabulous service!

We had only single day. Manager Natalya offered many different routes to fill our day according to our interests, she was very attentive to our needs and took care of booking table in restaurant and airport transfers.
Our guide Ludmila picked us up in the airport with our driver on minivan. We did all of the Must Sees in one day.
Ludmila was a fantastic source of energetic insightful knowledge and enthusiasm. She shared all legends of her city and showed us even hidden gems of Moscow known only by locals, in non of guide book they were ever mentioned. By the end of our tour we felt like the locals.
She had a good timing, we ended at the airport right on time before our flight. This is a great caring company that does the city proud.
They offer the best itineraries for layovers!
Don't even think of booking anything else, but Happy Moscow Tours only!!!

We are expats, living and working in Moscow, to get to know with this city better we decided to book a private tour.
What a great day we had with our lovely guide Milla. She was recommended by our friends , who visited Russia last summer. Indeed
she was exactly like they told us. Friendly, kind, responsible , with great sense of humor, and most important - knowledgeable. She was open
to answer to any questions of ours, about history, city, local people and their life. Obviously she loves her work and has a real passion
for Moscow. We really wanted her to guide us in Saint Petersburg too, as the guide we had there was OK, but not that great like Milla.
We highly recommend this company and especially Milla. If you want to have a historian who knows Moscow very well, but won't bother you with
boring dates and names, and will tell you interesting stories and show you a real Moscow, you should book with guide Milla. She is the best!

I would like to thank you, Natalya, for wonderful day we had with you, and for talent of being guide. You are the best story teller I have ever met, my children really liked listening to you, and now they are retelling those stories to their friends at home.
Thank you for your kindness and care you had for us, we felt we were in our local friend's hands, we could not wish for anything better.

During the tour you often showed us pictures of the metro!
Again, thank you for an extremely enjoyable tour of the metro.

I had the delight of having Ludmila for my private tour of Moscow and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Ludmila was knowledgeable and gave me a great insight into the different areas of Moscow along with history and fun facts. My guide was easy to get along with and I had a fantastic time. My husband and I had a 6 hour layover in Moscow last week and had contacted Happy Moscow about a private tour of the city during our layover. They were prompt with the emails to me and gave us the tour exactly as planned. My wife and I took a tour with Happy Moscow Tours. This trip to Moscow was a celebration of our one year anniversary. This was the best decision we could have made. Our tour guide was Natalya, and she was an awesome person with a ton of knowledge about the city. She was like a walking encyclopedia. We also did the Kremlin tour which covered not only cathedrals but also a visit to Diamond fund. On the tour we were in the central part of Moscow , we ended in Arbat street and I fell in love with that neighborhood. The tour was supposed to be about 6 hours but I believe we ended up touring for more like 7 hours. It was a great day and one of the best things we had ever done. Natalya was a great guide and the tour was just super. We requested a change of tour dates just a couple days before and the staff accommodated us with no problem. Thanks Happy Moscow!

This tour is definitely the way to go for a first time visit to Moscow. No worries at all since they pick you up at your hotel and return you there. We had a city tour by minibus. Our tour guide Natalia was super - really enjoyed her ongoing conversations. She was friendly, informative and funny. We saw more in a day than I thought possible. It gave us ideas for what to do in our remaining time and helped us figure out how to get there. We did not stay on the minibus for the whole day but got out and walked a bit at a number of places. Lots of opportunities for pictures. Would highly recommend.

We booked the Must See Moscow, Soviet and Izmailovo Kremlin tour for our family of 4. Natalia was quick to respond and really helpful, even with airport transfers. All 3 tours were conducted by Ludmilla and I cannot recommend her enough. It felt like we were sightseeing with a friend. Ludmilla was interesting, kind, patient and accommodating to our needs and requests. She made an effort to interact with each one of us especially my 12 yr old son (a Russian history fanatic). We saw everything on our list including St Basil's, Lenin's Mausoleum, the Metro, Space Museum, Gum and an amazing souvenir and antique market. Touring on our own would have been a lot more stressful and a lot less productive.

Truly an exciting adventure

This tour was fantastic! Our guides were very knowledgeable and informative. Both tours allowed for sufficient time for picture taking which was greatly appreciated. In any single area, there is a lot to take in and experience. Moscow at night is one of the most breathtaking sights I have ever seen, the entire city was lit in a most spectacular way. Colors ranged from gold to vibrant reds, blues, greens and purples. Moscow is truly a city that never sleeps, this city, even at night; is so full of life. The streets were filled from every corner with people who were all having a great time. During the day-time (Must See) tour we explored Moscow's rich history in more depth. We had the chance to explore many new sites which we reached via Moscow's famous metro lines. It was truly an exciting adventure.

Moscow is a beautiful city!

In a nutshell, "Night Moscow", was "the perfect tour"! My husband and I had landed in Moscow just a few hours before, but this tour made our layover worth it. Moscow is a beautiful city - and we first got to see it at night! Set against a darkening backdrop, the building in Moscow looked magnificent! We were shown all the most interesting places in and around Moscow along with the retelling of the colourful legends accompanying them. Our guide, Joel, was very pleasant and cheerful and presented each place to us in a way that made us relate to it, which of course, made us want to see even more of Moscow!!

On our way back, we had another layover in Moscow, which was when we took the "Must See" tour with Ludmilla as our guide. This tour was simply "Amazing"! We got to see the most important places in a different light - literally - as we viewed it during the day, and once again I was astounded by how beautiful a city Moscow is! This time, we got to walk around and visit the places within Moscow in finer detail, and the way Ludmilla retold the stories somewhat transported us back in time and we could picture ourselves in those settings back in the day!

Both these tours, were absolutely fantastic, and if I ever go back to Moscow, I will definitely tour the city with Happy Moscow Tours!! I will also recommend Happy Moscow Tours to my friends and family in a heartbeat, since with these tours, you get the best of Moscow for a very reasonable price, and it will leave you with fond memories!!

Party of five, one in a wheelchair, picked up at hotel by Ludmila and taxied to Moscow centre. She tailored the tour to the interests of the party we went EVERYWHERE, ate authentic Russian food for lunch with vodka and non alcoholic beer, shopped in Gum and then taxied back to the hotel -wheelchair user. The rest of the party then had a guided tour of the Metro.
Mila had a pleasant manner, excellent English, a good sense of humour and an excellent depth of knowledge about her City and its history; no hesitation in recommending this tour company, especially Ludmila, to any visitor who wants to have the full Moscow experience.

Must See tour with Alya

Laura and I had a delightful time with Alya!!
She was on time and made us feel confident and comfortable right from the beginning of the tour.
Alya was well prepared for the tour with her facts and figures and we always appreciated her opinions and insights with regards to the places we visited.
Alya did a great job of leading us through various Metro stations and her information with regards to facts and Russian superstitions was great to learn. It was fun tossing the coins at Mile Zero and the well near St Basil.
Alya was also very flexible. When we arrived at Red Square, it was being closed for a special event so we went and toured through the GUM and when we came out, the Red Square was open again. She gave us an informative tour of St Basil and also offered us the tour of Lenin's tomb but we declined. We enjoyed watching the changing of the guard and we loved learning about how people are selected to be honour guards.
Laura and I normally don't stop for lunch while touring and Alya graciously accepted this and we continued our tour without stopping to eat.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Church of Our Saviour (both upstairs and in the basement)  and all the historical information that Alya provided, including the story of the 50 year curse.
Laura desperately wanted to go to a Starbucks to get a souvenir mug for her collection and Alya made sure we got there and took us through the pedestrian all district. She made sure to point out all the special shops, homes and statues and even graced us with a recital of a poem by Pushkin both in English and Russian!
We also appreciated that Alya went well beyond her 4:00pm tour end time in order to help us get our Starbucks mug, especially since we never stopped for lunch!
We are pleased to say that Alya did a wonderful job and we thoroughly enjoyed having her lead us in our tour. Her enthusiasm and her pride and passion for Moscow and Russia make her a very good tour guide and a pleasure to be with.

Thanks again for a great tour of Moscow!

“Fantastiske ture i Moskva”

We had a long layover in the middle of the night in Moscow and decided to explore Moscow during that time. Natalia was great and flexible considering our arrival time was 1:00 AM! Joel picked us up promptly from the airport and took us into Moscow in a really comfortable minivan-- we had young kids and they were cozy for the drive downtown. Joel was great and really tailored the tour to our needs. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Moscow and took us to some great sites including a nice lunch/dinner/breakfast place. A few sites in Red Square weren't open due to the time so he provided snapshots of the inside of the buildings which was really helpful to visualize. We did a 6 hour tour and they dropped us off at the airport in time for our transfer. We really appreciated the flexibility and felt luckily to get the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Moscow... thank you!!

Must See tour with our guide Irina!

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Irina. Her English is excellent and has a very diverse vocabulary meaning that she explained things in more detail instead of other tours that I have been on which will all describe everything as "amazing, nice, important" and she didn't do this- she really made each site be it's own unique aspect.

She made us feel incredibly comfortable and at ease so we could ask whatever random question- and if she didn't know she would find out right away. She was very patient if we were straggling behind.

The only recommendation would be at the start to maybe to go thru the map to show what points we will be visiting so an awareness of the general areas/sights is known. Just gives a general overview before one starts.

Would definitely do a tour with her again and will be recommending Happy Moscow tours to any friends/family visiting.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how happy I was with the tour provided by Joel all day yesterday.  He was extremely engaging, knowledgeable, and helpful.  I was really impressed with the depth and breadth of his knowledge for a variety of topics, and it made for a day that surpassed all my expectations for what the tour could be.

Thank you very much for the excellent experience, I look forward to my next trip to Moscow.  I will definitely be recommending your service.

I had quite an enjoyable time with Anna on our walking tour of Moscow. She met me in the hotel as planned and then we began by her explaining the Moscow metro system and how it works, which is an important thing if you plan to try to get around by yourself for any length of time there.

The weather was cold and rainy unfortunately (yes, even at the end of June!), but Anna was able to time things appropriately so that we were not out in the rain that much and we still had a good time.

Anna was very quickly able to adjust the tour to things I wanted to see.

Anna is very knowledgeable about the history or Moscow and also gives good advice on how to deal with day to day things in Moscow.

Overall, well worth the money and I'd suggest the tour for others. You will get your moneys worth of walking!

Our Moscow tour

Anna was a fantastic guide. We saw all the main sights we wanted to cover and more. Anna was very knowledgeable and able to give us a lot of information about each sight. She was also able to give us recommendations about places to eat which we tried today and was very good. She was also able to explain the metro system to us which was good because we were able to navigate the metro by ourselves today. I will definitely be recommending Happy Moscow Tours to others travelling to Moscow in the future.

Thank you very much for providing a great tour at such short notice!

We were five friends who signed up for this tour. After a few minutes listening to our guide, Alyona from Happy Moscow Tours, we realized that this was going to be a fantastic tour of Moscow. Alyona is a true entertainer, both verbally on a tour like this and as a writer. We had a wonderful time and the tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Moscow.

This is one of the best tour I've ever been on in my life. Maxim was an amazing tour guide and kept things live the whole time. There were many great stops of legendary spots and landmarks on the tour. If you have any sort of interest in architecture and culture this tour is a MUST! I would highly recommend this tour over other tourist attractions in Moscow. An overall amazing experience that was also very reasonably priced.

Our friends who visited Moscow recently recommended us Happy Moscow Tours. They are exactly what people write about their tour guides here on TA.. Always punctual, responsible, and so knowledgeable. We had 5 days in Moscow and each day we had guided tours by Happy Moscow. They have a lot to offer you. We booked Must See, Soviet Moscow, Cultural Moscow, Izmailovo Kremlin with Vodka museum and Souvenir market, Kremlin on Red Square, Armoury and Diamond fund. Night Moscow, and the Off beaten path tour. Each guide was an amazing person with great personalities and very friendly. We felt like we were among friends in Moscow. We would have not seen that much on our own without them. Thank you Happy Moscow tours, your guides made our trip to Moscow so memorable and happy experience. Highly recommended.

We have just come back home from our trip in Moscow. The first day in Moscow we had a private tour and the guide was Anastasia. She was the best guide we could ever have. Anastasia is very friendly and she made us feel comfortable. Also she knew lots of details about Moscow and we became familiar with the city and its history. She was great to give us valuable information about the metro and various neighbourhoods. We would also like to thank Natalia for being so helpful while we were trying to organise our trip. Thank you for the great tour and wonderful day!

We were in town on business, four of us, two in our thirties and two in our sixties, had some unexpected extra free time, and arranged a last-minute 6 hour private tour with Happy Moscow Tours with Vladimir as our guide. Vladimir was a fantastic guide and our tour was excellent! After meeting us at our hotel, Vladimir led us in exploring center of Moscow and out of center, imparting interesting historical, architectural, and cultural information and giving us expert personal tips regarding Moscow. We all learned so much -- even those of us who have taken many walking tours of the city. Vladimir was great at meeting our requests to find great coffee and restrooms while on tour (always difficult to do in Moscow if you don't know the district or don't speak Russian. At the end of the tour, he sat down with us to answer any questions that we had regarding our tour and to discuss suggestions on what to do with our remaining time in Moscow. I highly recommend Vladimir and Happy Moscow Private Tours. It was clear that Vladimir is extremely knowledgeable, enjoys showing visitors his native Moscow, and could expertly lead a variety of specialized tours. We will definitely use his guiding service again when we return to Moscow!

Must see Happy Moscow tour - Must do in Moscow

We took our daughter to Moscow for her 16th birthday. We wanted to see and learn as much as we could in the short time we had and didn't want to be crammed on a big bus with lots of people. We like to ask questions and get recommendations in a more personal atmosphere. Luckily, we chose Happy Moscow Tours and their Must See Tour. Our guide Natalya was charming, knowledgeable, and very interesting. Having the tour at the beginning of our stay was perfect because we then felt comfortable going it alone for the rest of our trip. We rode the subway and became familiar with that (a big deal for those of us not speaking Russian) and also got to see some places we had heard about our whole lives. It was a great experience, but do take them seriously when they say put more layers in cold weather, they know their weather. Tours definitely covers lots of territory and most of attractions located outdoors! We had great time and we recommend it as the perfect way to start a Moscow vacation.

We had a fabulous tour of Moscow and Ludmila was a terrific tour guide. Good tour guides have the ability to adapt their pitch to suit their audience and Ludmila was able to read her audience perfectly. We loved her anecdotes and her relaxed and easy style. The tour was timed to perfection and 3 hours was perfect for a good overview of the highlights of the city.

The price of the tour was reasonable which was the initial attraction, and the service was very professional throughout. We were picked up at our hotel at 10am on Sunday morning and dropped off at at our chosen restaurant in time for lunch at 1 pm. The tour enabled us to see much more of the city than we ever would have if left to our own devices.

I would highly recommend Happy Moscow Tours to anyone visiting this beautiful city!

Larisa was a true delight! My friend and I were so well cared for and learned so much about Moscow; what a fascinating city. Larisa not only showed us a great time, she was a walking encyclopedia of Moscow history. She went above and beyond any standard tour by ensuring we saw exactly what we wanted during our time with him. She also offered insider information to help us be more efficient with our brief time in the city, and made it a truly special experience. If I only had one day in the city, I would spend it with Happy Moscow Tours.

My husband and I along with my brother and his wife took a tour with Vladimir. The tour was fantastic and it was the highlight of our trip. This was my brother and his wife's first time in Moscow and I wanted to make sure it was a great experience of Moscow for them. Vladimir made sure we did!!
Vladimir is fascinating and his knowledge of Moscow is perfect. Vladimir tailored the tour around what we wanted to do. We would never had the confidence to take the metro without him. He told us all about the history and plenty of interesting facts and stories about growing up in Moscow.
Vladimir is a great guy and very easy to get on with, he even joined us for a few beers later and introduced us to his beautiful new bride.
I would highly recommend this tour. It is reasonably priced and Vladimir will give you recommendations for dinner and shows that you might never heard of but are frequented by real Muscovite and not your average tourist!!

Our tour with Ivan was so fun! We saw so many things, and he knows so much about the history of Moscow, which added to our enjoyment. We took this tour on the first full day of our trip, and it worked perfectly for us. We got an overview of Moscow, and knew exactly what we wanted to see more of. Ivan also gave us good advice on what to see, and when to see it, and his advice saved us both money and time. He also encouraged us to call him if we had any questions later on. We did call him in early morning with a question when we got home, and he helped us quickly and found what we were looking for. I would recommend Ivan and Happy Moscow Tours.

We did the Must see tour in March with Larisa as our guide. A six hour tour may seem like it is going to be long & tiring , especially in the cold weather, but the time really flew by, thanks to the engaging content, and wasn't exhausting at all. The intent of the tour is not to show you all the major & obvious attractions (nor to stand in line!) but to show you Moscow as a local knows it, probably better than a lot of locals know it. In addition to a lot of interesting history, Russian culture and architecture, we learnt a few tricks to better navigate Moscow next time we go.
Our guide Larisa was excellent, interesting & very knowledgeable. I just wish we had more time in Moscow. We would highly recommend this tour (do it at the start of your stay if you can). We hope to book with Happy Moscow Tours again on our next visit to the wonderful Moscow.

We booked a tour customized by our wish list.
Not even rain and freezing wind could dampen our enjoyment of this tour. Katerina's obvious love for her city was reflected in her knowledge of its history and her pride in the local sights.
The history of those areas shown to us is fascinating and we were able to see how the area developed from early days until the present. It certainly was a day of discovery for us, Patriarch ponds, Boulevard's rings, Novodevichy convent, Taganka district, chocolate factory etc left us wishing we had more time to take another tour. This was our favourite tour of all in Moscow, and we highly recommend it.

After few emails we exchanged with manager of Happy Moscow Private Tours, we came to conclusion that was the best company to choose for Moscow sightseeing.
First of all you can change any part of the itinerary or even make your own route and guide will show you exactly what you want to see. We had long wish list and Natalia was very patient and kind to us to help to organize our tour.
We had Katerina, with perfect English and great knowledge of Russian history. She was excellent to tour us in Saint Basil, on Red Square, in GUM and Kitay Gorod and showed us the old districts with ancient churches. She was very friendly to each member of our group. In Tretyakov gallery she gave us excellent introduction of Russian art and those wonderful paintings we saw in gallery.
As we are Vegetarians, she took us to vegetarian restaurant and helped us with translation of menu. After lunch she took us on river cruise from Gorky park, along Moscow river on ice breaker boat. It was really great experience to see all amazing sights from the boat and hear interesting stories about Moscow. I am sure other guests of cruise were also happy to listen our guide and her great stories. All in all, we were very happy with our choice of company and our wonderful guide Katerina.

My wife and I were in Moscow. It was the second time we were in this beautiful city, and we decided again to explore the city by walking, like we did at our first visit, but this time we thought it would be helpful and more informing to do this with a professional tour guide.
After a long searching for the right tour company, also here at Tripadvisor, we decided to take a tour that is offered by Happy Moscow Private Tours.
The main reason, we have chosen them, was, because only locals born and raised in Moscow, graduated in history and professional tour guides will do all their tours. Their flexibility to change the itinerary to match our wish list sounded great for me.

And what should I say, Ludmila did a real fantastic job, but she gave us the feeling that this is not just a job for her. She makes the tour with a huge amount of enthusiasm. She showed us many hidden secrets and small interesting things in Moscow. Not only the things everybody can read on his guidebook. She also answered all additional questions from us and also told many interesting background stories. On this tour it was very cold and she did everything to keep us warm during the tour, like making some stops inside some shops and spend us a cup of coffee. She was very concerned that each of us felt comfortable.

The tour and especially the guidance by Ludmila was so inspiring for my wife and me, that we decided to book two additional tours Soviet Moscow and Izmailovo Kremlin. These additional tours were also guided by Ludmila and were also absolutely perfect. Especially the USSR park was equipped with lots of very interesting stories and information that we never got without Ludmila and her perfect sense of telling stories.
These tours were the absolute highlights of our Moscow trip.
Thanks to Ludmila and Happy Moscow Tours for this experience.
If we will come back to Moscow, in any case we will book again one or more tours with her!

Enjoyable stops for coffee, lunch in traditional restaurant and shopping for chocolates in local supermarket. . We were met in our hotel on time are taken back in the end of tour, excellent service. In couple hours our tour was started we already were anxious to book another tour. On next day we had Night Moscow tour with her. The city came to life with her guidance. We cannot thank Natalia, manager of Happy Moscow Private Tours, enough for making our Moscow trip so perfect. Natalia designed a tour for us that included everything on our wish list: from the "must see" Red Square, Kremlin, Saint Basil cathedral, Arbat street, Christ the Savior cathedral, to a unique walking tour of places mentioned in Bulgakov's Master and Margarita, Odd Flat and Patriarch Ponds, Izmailovo Kremlin and flea market and a ride on the metro system. Natalia selected a guide Larisa, who was extremely great guide for us. We had a wonderful time. Larisa was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond her responsibilities as guide by memorizing Russian poetry and reciting passages from Master and Margarita. It was an amazing three days and the highlight of our trip to Russia. Just an enjoyable and unforgettable experience, thanks to Larisa.
We can highly recommend this tour company.

I will strongly recommend this tour company, and their Must See tour, you get to see the main attractions within 6-7 hours. Perfectly English speaking guide Ludmila was very friendly and helpful. She gave us tons of useful tips what else to see in Moscow on our own. Her advises for restaurants were great, and instructions of using metro were very useful.

She corresponded with us during our visit in Moscow, helping us with information and directions. She really cares for her tourists, even after the tour. Thank you Happy Moscow Tours!

Just go back from a must-see tour with Ludmila and I could not recommend this enough. We had only one day to tour the city and chose the must-see tour, which hit all the highlights - Red Square, the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Gum Department Store, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, etc. Ludmila was so knowledgeable about the building and sites we were seeing that it really added so much to the experience. You can tell she loves her city, and she has a great sense of humor. Afterward, she took us to a traditional Russian restaurant and showed us her culture that way. We could not have ordered the way she did and had such a great experience. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are coming to Moscow and only have a little bit of time, this is the best way to go.

1 day in Moscow

We wish we had more time in Moscow. But that single day we had was perfectly spent thanks to our guide Ludmila. She managed our schedule to show us numerous highlights and even hidden sights known by locals. We also were able to have lunch in Russian traditional restaurant and enjoy different dishes and also different types of vodka. Our guide is an amazing lady, very knowledgeable, easygoing, friendly and funny. She helped us buying souvenirs and was helpful to choose fur hats and to bargain for good price. Next time when we come to Moscow we will definitely use the service of Happy Moscow Tours.

If you are going to Moscow, use the services of this tour company. They are simply the best.
Natalia organized excellent plan of our visit to Moscow and especially the entertainment program and tours.
We were picked up in airport and taken to our hotel late evening.
In the morning our guide gave us a call and waited for us in the lobby.
Katerina started our tour right from our hotel, telling us great stories about the district we stayed and interesting facts about our hotel.
We took metro to get to Red Square and saw very beautiful stations.
She had radio guides for each of us, there were 20 of us, so we could hear everything she spoke, it was very useful especially in noisy metro stations.
On Red square Katerina offered to visit Lenin's tomb, which was out of our plan, but it was really great experience. Visiting Saint Basil cathedral was the highlight of Red Square's part. On the way to Kremlin we saw Varvarka street, full of ancient churches, then we saw former KGB building on Lubyanka square, Metropol hotel and its famous restaurant with beautiful paintings on ceiling.
Kuznetsky Most, Kamergersky, Tverskaya streets were really interesting to see, visiting Yeliseev shop was a big surprise for us, as it impressed us with its interiors.
We had delicious lunch in Russian restaurant, we tried Pelmeni, pancakes, soup Borsch, vodka and kvas. All food suggested by our guide was really delicious. She also chose for us yummy deserts in the end.
We visited Kremlin, Armoury chamber and Diamond fund with Katerina, she was fabulous in telling about Russian history and especially answering to hundreds of questions we asked.
We spent an amazing day with Katerina, she is very professional and the most important she was very attentive and friendly to each of us, patient to our needs, she took care of us every minute, making sure that we were not cold, by providing us with warmers for feet, hands and ears. Those scarves and hats brought and offered to us by her in the morning, were given us as presents, she knew we were going to Saint Petersburg on next day, and we might need them. It was very kind of her, we are very thankful to her for great tour and her kindness.
If you want the best guide, ask for Katerina. Highly recommended.

Natalya was our guide. It was our best time in Moscow, afterward we were in Moscow 3 times for business, but the first introduction to Moscow she gave was perfect.
Her knowledge of Russian history and her enthusiasm for guiding impressed us from the beginning of our tour. Her tour helped us to see the best of Moscow, which was perfect for first time as were tourists, but at the same time she helped us to understand Russian people and Moscow's lifestyle. When we were in Moscow second time, we were familiar with most of places and even could show them to other colleagues from the office. Natalya tried her best to open the true Moscow, which you can't see while you are busy at work, spending all day long in your office. Lanes, streets and building came alive through her stories. Churches and cathedrals are now the point of our interests, we like to enter to little churches without hesitation, as Natalya showed us how friendly Russian people are. Thanks to her we have really different attitude to Moscow and local people. Now we understand more and more what Russian soul means.
I would recommend Natalya to all of new expats living in Moscow. As I know most of companies knows her as a perfect interpreter, but we discovered she is a perfect tour guide.

Our guide Natalya met us in the station where we arrived on Aeroexpress train from airport and she started our tour right from there. We rode metro to get to Red Square, on the way we saw beautiful stations and heard great stories about them. Natalya was just perfect for us, knowledgeable, patient with our questions and active in pace, she followed ours, as we wanted to see as much as we could, we walked fast.
She managed our schedule very well, we also had time for quick lunch with soup Borsch and Russian drinks. In the end of the tour she took us back to train station. It was wonderful tour which gave us a chance to see Moscow and its main sights. Highly recommended!

We were traveling for business to Moscow and had only 1 day free to view the city.
We are from Brazil and the part of the country that it does not get as cold as it can in Moscow.
Once we mentioned that we were afraid to be cold during long hours of sightseeing, our guide came with feet and hand warmers, hats and scarves for us. This was so kind of her, we never could expect such personal services from tour guide.
Katerina is very professional. Although she is very young and pretty lady, she is very knowledgeable of Russian history.
It was really good combination of historical information with urban legends and funny anecdotes, and explanations of modern life of Russians.
For lunch she took us to Russian restaurant to try local food, where we enjoyed our meals and especially drinks, like Kvas, Mors and Vodka (of course).
We were really happy to have a local guiding us in Moscow and at the same time to feel that she was very caring and kind to us like we were her best friends.
It was really above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our tour and it was much better than we could expect from a tour guide.
If you are traveling alone or with a group, or just have few hours in Moscow I highly recommend Happy Moscow Tours and Katerina.

Thank you Happy Moscow Tours for great tours and wonderful time we had in Moscow with you.
We were a group of 15 people, booked private tours for our team and had 2 fabulous days in Moscow.
On first day Natalya guided us to main sights of Moscow, she was super in Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, everything we saw and learned about was very impressive and unforgettable. She helped us to plan our itinerary to make all in our group feel comfortable. She also helped us to find and buy tickets to Bolshoi and circus, helped with pick up from airport and transfer to station on our departure to Saint Petersburg. From the first minute to the last one we were with Natalya we felt secure and in right hands.

On second day we had 2 guides, Ludmila and Vladimir, they split our group, it was even better, as smaller groups are easier to move in the city.
We had City tour by car combined with walking. We visited Novodevichy convent and cemetery, Sparrow hills, Victory park, White house and lots of more interesting places out of the center. The highlight of our tour was Izmailovsky Kremlin and Vodka museum, we had lots of fun there. Guides were very kind to help us with souvenirs, helped to bargain with sellers in the market, and especially to find rare antiques in the flea market. We had a feeling they were our local friends rather than just tour guides.
They took us back to hotel to leave our shopping in the rooms and escorted us to Circus in the evening. It was really great to spend whole day with them.
On the next morning we were all talking about our wonderful tour guides in Moscow. We were lucky to find this tour company.
Highly recommended!!!

From the first email to a day of tour everything was meant to make clients happy. Quick replies to emails, willing to discuss all details in advance and many different options to offer, flexible with changing routes, and very friendly and professional guides.
We had 2 days with them. We were interested in specific places of Moscow and chose the mixed itineraries. Our guides Ludmila and Maxim were excellent. I can't thank enough for the great time we spent with them. They did a perfect job.
I would highly recommend to everyone planning to come to Moscow.

When I am in Moscow for business, I call to Natalia to book a tour. Several times I used Happy Moscow Tours, and thought there was nothing else they could show and surprise me in Moscow, as I already have been on their different tours.
Every time they offer me new tours and impress me with huge knowledge of Moscow and Russian history. Thanks to guides of Happy Moscow Tours I have learned so much about Moscow, every time they take me to new places and try to show me hidden gems of Moscow. Moscow is one of the most favorite cities of mine. Guides truly love their home city and make you involved into city's life, history and style, making you more and more interested in learning about it.
They are simply the best in Moscow. Highly recommended to all of expats and tourists in Moscow.

I was always interested in Soviet history and wanted to know more about it.
We booked with Happy Moscow Tours because they offer different types of tours and you also can modify an itinerary based on your wish list. We wanted to know and see everything about Soviet era. We had Ludmila as our guide. I didn't expect that a girl could be so good in the military history, in politics and even in WW2. All what I can say is “Bravo” to Ludmila. It was the best tour I had in my life. The way she explained history was just perfect for me, as my knowledge of Russian history is big enough too. We did more than 8 hours tour, went beyond the preplanned and discussed itinerary, Ludmila offered to visit Gulag museum too. We saw former KGB building, learned lots of new information about the system, we visited Gulag museum which shocked us deeply with information and photos we saw. We also went to Lenin's tomb and saw his embalmed body, Ludmila shared many stories and facts about revolution in Russia. We were offered to go to Cold War Banker-42, we took this chance and visited it. There was a tour in Russian language only on that day, that's why we didn't plan to go there, but our guide offered to translate for us. We were not only foreigners in the bunker, so Ludmila also was very helpful to other tourists in English there. Her knowledge of the guns and weaponry impressed everyone who was around. It was really shocking as she looks very feminine and you never expect such lady to know so much about war, weaponry and military stuff.
Then we went to Victory park and visited WW2 museums, quickly saw all weaponries of Soviets participated in WW2, where Ludmila impressed us with her knowledge one more time. Then seeing us frozen she offered to go to indoor museum, a separate one, to warm up. There we were impressed with size of the museum, so big, we could spend whole day there, but Ludmila showed us only the main things as we still had other places to visit.
Later we went to Space museum and VVTs exhibition center (so called "Soviet Park). My wife loved space museum, she always wanted to know more about Soviet program. Our guide was excellent in explaining of technical things, which surprised us again. The highlight of our tour was VVTS exhibition center. It is all dedicated to USSR and its republics. We kept asking thousands questions and Ludmila was happy to answer all of them. We learned all about USSR time, from the beginning to the end of it. We entered few pavilions to warm up, but got amazed with Soviet style interiors. I guess our guide knew we would be happy to see that.
We would not see so much as we did with tour guide. I had a feeling like I've read a thick book of history in one day, full of interesting stories and facts I never knew before.
We didn't want to let our guide go, and invited her for dinner. She suggested to go to Soviet restaurant where we tried delicious food of soviet cuisine. She also shared some recipes of dishes we tried there. It was the best tour we ever had, and I never saw such guides like Ludmila, who is so dedicated to her city and its history, with great knowledge of Soviet and Russian history, with excellent English, and with kind and charming personality. My wife and I enjoyed our tour very much and highly recommend Ludmila and Happy Moscow Tours.

5 of 5 starsIt was our first visit to Moscow. We were given the perfect introduction to Moscow by our guide, Ludmila. Her kindness, warmth, charm, care and humor made for a very entertaining day. We were impressed with her endless knowledge of Russian history and Moscow. We particularly appreciated her personal insights that enlivened the facts and figures around the main tourist spots. She shared so many stories and legends of Moscow, showed lots of pictures and videos of interesting facts of Moscow events. Armed with Ludmila's advice we were able to put to good use our remaining days in Moscow. I thoroughly recommend this tour, and Ludmila in particular.

After research for tour companies on which I've spent few days before coming to Moscow, I booked with Happy Moscow Tours. I wanted to have a guide for whole day, as I find it very boring when you use maps in order to find right streets and directions or sitting in the hotel in the evenings. I just wanted to make most of our time in Moscow. My husband, our little daughter and I had wonderful 2 days with Ludmila from Happy Moscow Tours. She got along very well with our daughter of 8 years. We did Must see tour on first day and had 8 hours of really interesting tour. On second day manager of tour company wanted to send another guide but we asked for Ludmila again. We were really happy with her. She speaks English very well, she even knows American humor, but the most we like about her was the way she speaks about history. No boring dates and information, but great stories and legends that make you remember all of what you heard. She has a personal touch and deep knowledge of Moscow and Russian history. Her manner of explaining the religion and churches was unique, as it makes you get more and more interested. In Novodevichy convent we participated in service in the church, among the locals who came to pray and nuns who live in the convent. It was exactly what we wanted, to see local's life and people. In Izmailovo Kremlin we visited Vodka museum where we heard great and funny stories about Russian vodka. We also tried shots of vodka, learned few different ways of drinking it. It was really fun.
Ludmila also helped us in buying souvenirs, she bargained with sellers, and explained folkloric meaning of each item we got interested and wanted to buy. It was very helpful to understand what you are buying. These 2 days with Ludmila were like we had local best friend who was showing us around. We were very happy to have her as she is the best guide we ever had on our travelling. Thank you Ludmila, we will always remember you and your city. You are the best!

We want to thank Happy Moscow Tours for organizations of our stay in Moscow, from correspondence by email, pick up from airport, providing tours and helping with tickets to concerts: all went perfect. We were a big family of 10 people and of different ages. We had 3 different guides for each day and all of them were great and very professional ones. We liked every sight we were shown and museums we visited. Guides were really good with children and adults at the same time, got our interest and attention for every minute of our tours.
We can't thank enough as it was really great and fun time we had with them. I wish we had same guides in Saint Petersburg. Highly recommended!

We wanted to be guided by local person, but we didn't want to have an amateur. We were looking for a professional guide with fluent English and historian by education. Thanks to recommendations of our relatives we found Natalya. She is the best, we could not wish for better than her. Historian, perfect English, highly educated, erudite, intelligent and very interesting person to talk with. She managed to plan our route in accordance to our needs and likes. We saw everything we wanted. Our teenager son is studying history, and it was the best for him that professional historian was guiding him in Moscow. Every question he asked was answered and explained in details. In the end he said it was his best tour and ours too. Highly recommended!

We chose walking tour ''Must see''. We were afraid to get too tired of 8 hours walking, so first we booked only half day tour. We are a couple of 65 y.o.
Our guide was Larisa, she was really good, so we decided to prolong our tour with her.
We covered all touristy part of Moscow and Novodevichy convent with her. She chose really good restaurant for us, not Russian one.
It was Georgian cuisine. She was very flexibly to change an itinerary on the way. She did a great job. We enjoyed those 8 hours with her.
On next day we visited Kremlin with guide Natalya, she was very interesting and great story teller. We listened to her with jaws dropped. She showed us old pictures of Kremlin grounds and palaces.Told us about history of each building in Kremlin and nowadays life of its residents and workers. We ended our tour with begging her to take us to Armoury too, so great she was. As we didn't book a private tour with her to Diamond fund and Armoury, we had to wait a little for tickets. In the Armoury Natalya was super. She showed us the best part of the museum's treasures and managed to get tickets to the Diamond fund.
We were very sceptical about private tours, so didn't book many things in advance. We usually do a group tours, where every thing is fixed, i.e. price, time, duration, list of sights. But we thought it would be great to have a private tour where you can ask your own questions, to see what you want to, don't have to wait for others for hour to finish with coffee break or WC etc.
We regretted about our sceptic attitude, as this agency makes a perfect job. They worth every dollar.

We wanted more and more tours with them. Manager of the company helped us a lot by finding a guide for night tour of Moscow in a short notice, half an hour. It was great to see beautiful Moscow at night. Unfortunately I can't remember name of the guide.
The most amazing about these guides was their love for their hometown. They shared this love with us too. We loved Moscow and its wonderful people. Thank you Happy Moscow Tours and Larisa and Natalya.

My wife and I did a full-day tour with Natalya and it was the perfect way to see Moscow! She was the best guide we ever had, that's why I decided to write a review. She is fully fluent in English, incredibly knowledgeable of Russian history. Natalya was very open to sharing her views and experiences. She was very responsive and customized the tour to what we wanted to do and see. She seems to genuinely care about her clients' needs and interests and we had a fun day with her.
We visited all places of our wish list. She has great sense of humor. We loved the anecdotes and funny stories she told for many of the sites and we heard interesting stories about even random buildings we walked past. We feel like we learned a lot of history and current culture from Natalya. We 100% recommend that all of my friends see Moscow with Natalya!

Our colleagues recommended us to refer to Happy Moscow Tours. They had very enjoyable experience of using its service when visited Moscow last year.
Natalya was very kind to plan our itinerary for each day based on our wish-list. We had 5 wonderful days and great tour guides for each day.
We were lucky to be guided by different professionals. Each of guide was a great person with nice and friendly personalities.
Natalya was our guide on first day, she met us in airport on car and on the way to the center she entertained us with great funny stories about Moscow, it was very easy to communicate with her. Highly educated, with great sense of humor, rich knowledge of history and city.
We visited Red Square, Kremlin and Armory, she also advised to go to Diamond fund. It was perfect start of our visit. Then she took us to the hotel. We ended our day being friends.
On second day we got lucky to have Anastasia as our guide. Funny, enthusiastic, always smiling and wonderful girl. She shared with us her knowledge of Russian art and Russian religion. She is a storehouse of knowledge of any kind of art. We didn't expected a young girl to be so knowledgeable of religion too. We visited Churches and cathedrals. The highlight of our day was a service in convent church among locals and Russian nuns. We were blessed in the end of service by Russian priest.
On the third day we had Ivan for Soviet Moscow tour. He is a teacher of history, so we really enjoyed every minute we spent with him. We asked him tons of questions, every of them as answered by Ivan with great explanations and interesting details. We learned so much about Russia, Romanovs, revolution and soviet history. It is impossible to read that much as we learned from him. The highlight of the day was a visit Space museum and VVTs exhibition center. We also enjoyed our time in Gulag museum and Soviet architecture museum.
On forth day guide Vladimir took us for car tour, where we saw amazingly beautiful parts of Moscow, which would be difficult to reach by walk.
Sparrow hills, Victory park, White house, Tsaritsino park, Kolomenskoye park and estate. He is very educated and handsome guy, we enoyed reading his poems, he is also a talented painter, we got a gift from him, it was the painting of his work. He showed us the place where rock music lovers gather, and where motorbikers usually come. We spent long time by watching wedding of locals to which were invited and had shots of vodka. Vladimir is very communicable and easygoing person, thanks to him we got involved to daily life of local people and wedding event. It was really great day.
On the fifth day we had 2 tours with the same guide. Larisa was great guide too. We had Off beaten path route and in the evening we did Night Moscow.
With her we visited market, where was super in bargaining for price of souvenirs. Also she was hilarious in telling us history of vodka, made us and even other people around burst from laugh. We got shots of vodka, and learned the correct way of drinking it and having pickles after wards. It was like our local friend was with us all day long. On a night tour she took us to the place where people were bathing in frozen river. It was Epiphany holiday. It was a midnight, and we stood among locals celebrating this holiday. It was really great experience.

We can highly recommend this company without any hesitation. Each guide made us feel we were very welcomed and dear guests, they never hurried to end the tour on time, tried to make us feel very comfortable and try local things and do as locals do, to see the best of the city and to learn the best of Russian people and their life.
They are simply the best!

We corresponded with manager of Happy Moscow Tours for long time, discussing all details in advance. We were very excited to come to moscow, but a little worried because we dont speak Russian at all. We wanted tp preplan our days in Moscow. In each letter we kept asking many questions. Manager was amazingly patient and polite in every letter, carefully explained what to expect, what to bring with us, where to go our near to our hotel. When we arrived to Moscow, she alreaddy booked everything for us, from taxi driver in airport up to dinner in very nice restaurant very close to our hotel. Our evening was so enjoyable. It was an excellent service.
On next morning our guide called to us and was waiting for us in the lobby on time. On the way to metro Vladimir discussed an itinarary as we were not sure what exactly we wanted to see with tour guide and what to see independantly.
He gave us good tips what museums to visit on our own and what's better to do with tour guide. His English is perfect, withput accent at all. The most we liked about him was his personality. He was a storehouse of information. Every question was answered by him with good commwnts and stories.
We visited Kremlin with another tour guide, who expected us in front of entrance.
As you have to prebook a tour to Kremlin in advance, manager organized our itinirary this way, thst we could visit Kremlin on the same day of our tour of Moscow. Tour was really great, so much information about history, architecture and religion. A guide in Kremlin was very knowledgable, pity i dont remember her name.
Vladimir came to pick us up later on agreed time, and we continued our day. He spent more than 8 hours, in the end of tour he brought us back to hotel and called to restaurant to reserve a table for us for dinner.
It was just perfect service and wonderful tour, we couldnot wish for better tour guide and agency.
On third day we felt very confident in the city, ridinmetro and visitng museums, thanks to lesson that Vladimir gave us earlier.
We recommend this agency and especially Vladimir to anyone who wants to make most of yout time in Moscow and have excellent tours.

We were a group of 20 people. By recommendation of our friend, who visited Moscow before, we booked a tour with Happy Moscow Tours. Very well organized, professional, fun and not least well priced full day tour of Moscow. Having only one day, it was the best decision to make most of it. Our guide Natalya managed to fit in everything on our wish list and more. Her English is excellent and her knowledge of city and history is really great.

We visited all sightseeings what was possible to see during 1 day, Red Square, Kremlin, Lenin's tomb, Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Arbat street and boulevards, Sparrow hills, Victory park, Gulag museum, and Contemporary history museum and even more, I don't remember all names of the places we visited. The highlights were Metro tour and lunch in Russian restaurant. Well done and a big thank you, Natalya! Highly recommended!

We arrived to Moscow in the evening only for few hours, and our car was awaiting to pick us from airport. When we got to center our guide met us in appointed place with better car, which had more space, clean windows and smiling driver. We had only few hours and had to fly the same evening. It was the best way to see Moscow in a short time. Our guide Natalya was great. There was not any minutes of gap or silence. She kept telling us great stories and legends even when we stood on crossroads for red light. We had several stops which gave us an opportunity to take photos and see beautiful panoramas. On Sparrow hills it was breathtaking view of Moscow. After we finished our tour on car we returned to Red square for walking and having dinner. It was really quick and late dinner. On agreed time the same car returned to take us back to airport. It was very enjoyable time we spent in Moscow. I wish we had more time for sightseeing. It is the best option for transit passengers. This agency knows their job and did it very well. Highly recommended.

We booked a tour of Moscow with Happy Moscow Tours.
Manager offered us to choose a combined tour which allowed us to have a guided tour whole day.
First we did a tour by car, then we continued our tour by walking. Our guide was with us for 10 hours and never told us to hurry, as we booked a tour only for 8 hours.
It was just perfect to have someone local, especially if this person was a professional guide, for all day long, as we had only 1 day in Moscow. Our guide Anastasia was very knowledgeable and nice person.
We visited Red Square , Saint Basil, Gum, mausoleum, Kremlin, Diamond fund, Armoury, Metro stations, Eliseev shop, Gorky house and other beautiful places. It is hard to believe we saw so many places in 1 day.
It was a pleasure to treat her for lunch, as she kept telling us stories and showing pictures and videos while we were eating. In the end of day, she offered to help us to get to the train station, we came back to hotel, picked our bags and went to train station. This girl was our friend in the end, as she did much more than just a guide could do. She showed us the kindness and openness of Russian people. It was really private tour, which we will never forget. Highly recommended!

From the first letter we wrote to this agency up to the end of tour all went smooth and perfect. Manager answered to every question we asked in emails, suggested the best options for tours.
We were very lucky to have Natalya as our guide.
From the first minute she met us in our hotel we felt very comfortable with her, we knew we were in "right hands".
She is very professional guide, her knowledge of Russian history is impressive.
She explained to our children what dynasties ruled the country different years and epochs, showed us pictures and some videos on her iPad about different events happened in this country.
She got our attention and even our children were listening to her with big interest.
We visited all ''must see'' places and museums. On the second day she took us to Royal residence out of center. She combined walking tour with car, so we didn't get too tired in the end.
I wish we could have her as our guide in Saint Petersburg too.
Thank you , Natalya, you made our trip to Moscow. You are the best!

We really enjoyed our tour with guide Natalya. She is very knowledgable and very intelligent woman.

She got along very well with our little kids and could entertain them with little funny stories about heroes of Moscow and showed many pictures of the places how they looked like before and etc.
It was walking tour, but none of us got tired in the end, as tour was very interesting and we learned a lot about this beautiful city and its history.
We visited the most famous places of Moscow and few hidden paths that our guide showed us.
It was really private tour, we enjoyed every minute spent with our guide, she was like our local friend, very kind and patient, funny and caring.
Additionally she took us to children's shop to buy something for kinds and advised to buy traditional gifts and toys!
We really liked the reastaurant she took us for lunch, it was Russian traditional one, she helped us to choose food for kids too.
Our children really liked Natalya that in the end didn't want to let her go home. She has a personal touch and charming personality.
We would highly recommend Happy Moscow Tours and guide Natalya to anyone who wants an excellent guide in Moscow.

In the end of the tour he took us to Russian restaurant to try traditional food. We were happy to invite him to join us, as we were very thankful to him. We urgently needed a private tour, as there were only few hours left before we had to fly. We didn't plan to have any free time for sightseeing as came to Moscow for business. We sent emails to many different agencies and even tried to call. 2 of them replied but only 1 could send us a guide with a car in 40 minutes. That was very fast booking. Thanks to Happy Moscow Private Tours we could use our time for sightseeing. It was an awesome experience. Guide Maxim was excellent in both English and history. He gave good comments on everything we saw from the windows of the car and answered to thousands of our questions. We made several stops and saw breathtaking views of Moscow. Took hundreds of photos. Our guide didn't mind of being our photographer as we wanted to be all together on the pictures. He was very professional, his knowledge of history impressed us. He was very patient and very polite with us. In the end of the tour we made last stop on Red Square and our guide offered to continue a tour by walk. Square is closed for traffic. It was the best decision we took, as could watch Changing of the Guards in Alexander Garden. We visited Saint Basil and GUM, and our guide helped us to buy souvenirs and Russian Vodka to take back. It was really private and very interesting tour. Very well done, Maxim. Thank you! Highly recommended!

We are Americans who were visiting Moscow, Russia for the first time.
Neither of us speak or read Russian so we felt a guide was necessary to make the most of our time in Moscow and hopefully gain a better understanding of Russian culture. Our friends recommended us this agency. Prior to arriving to Moscow, we agreed to do a full-day Moscow city tour. On the first day, we were met by Natalya (owner of the company). She gave us an excellent tour of the city and was able to answer all of our questions. We toured Red Square, GUM department store, and much of downtown Moscow. During the middle of the day, we ate lunch at a Russian Restaurant. At the end of the tour we decided to hire a guide for half of the second day to help us navigate the subway and go to out of the center. Having a guide for the subway was helpful to get to the museums we wanted to visit. Our guide was Maksim on second day, he also showed and taught us to use metro and map and navigate by signs in Russian, and how to get back to our hotel. We recommend this tour company. They made our trip to Moscow much more efficient and we were able to see more sites in a limited amount of time.

With best wishes

Kate

Right from the beginning, Anastasia helpful, organized and honest. My wife and I were only in Moscow for two days, and wanted to see as much as possible. Before booking with Anastasia, she answered our questions promptly and honestly. For our second day, she offered us a full day tour of Moscow for a very reasonable price which we gladly took. She took us to see not only the famous not-to-be-missed landmarks but also some hidden gems that only locals would know about. She used her laptop to show us pictures on how certain streets/landmarks looked years' before, and also narrated some of the interesting true stories associated with these streets/landmarks. We found this to be quite an innovative way for explaining the historical significance of each place. Also we can see that all the information she gave us was deeply researched, not just standard facts that could be googled by anyone. She was fun, friendly, and answered all of our questions. She was also very flexible in changing the day's plans as we went along. We enjoyed our traditional Russian lunch and knowing what the Russians do to get good luck! In essence, if you want to truly enjoy and appreciate the history and culture of Moscow which I must admit is very unique, you need a tour guide like Anastasia!
Thank you so much Anastasia, we had a wonderful memorable trip, and we will recommend you to anyone going to Moscow!

She did the tour in accordance to our needs and wish-list, and gave us a lot of tips where else to go and what to see on the next day.
She provided us with maps and explanations that we could find other museums and places we wanted to visit on our own.

Really great tour of Moscow!

I was in Moscow few times, but last time I decided to book a private tour with Happy Moscow Private Tours.

It was the best decision I made, as my guide Natalya, showed me Moscow the way I would never see it, driving a car or on taxi or even on the bus. Walking tour is the best way to see and discover the most beautiful places in Moscow. Natalya was on time to pick me from my hotel and a wonderful day was started with her stories and legends of Moscow. She is the best guide I ever had.

Most of the times when I was on tour, the guides seemed to be bored of telling the same stories to tourists every day, and their monotone stories full of boring dates and names which are always hard to remember, made tours not impressive and really boring. But Natalya was great, she didn’t overload me with dates and names, but told me the history in unusual way. The buildings and monuments seemed to be alive when hearing her stories of the heroes of Moscow and Russian architecture.

I still remember all of the legends, stories, superstitions and all places I saw with Natalya. Her enthusiasm, passion and love of her city made my tour so interesting, impressive and unforgettable.

She really deserves the best compliments and best recommendations!
