Working in Partnership With Parents Policy

As a childminder and Tutor I recognise that it is crucial that I build a trusting partnership between myself and the child’s parents.

My aim is to achieve a strong working partnership with parents by:

  • Always making time to discuss concerns with parents about their children.
  • Informing parents about their children’s activities throughout the day either verbally or written in each child’s diary.
  • Allowing parents to access records kept on their own children.
  • Encouraging parents to read my policies and procedures especially Safeguarding Procedures and Complaints Procedures.

Parents are requested to keep me informed of any changes to personal circumstances that may have an effect upon their children e.g. change of address, phone numbers, doctor, emergency contact. (You can download a child record form to inform me of changes)

Parents are also requested to keep me informed of any circumstances that may affect their children emotionally e.g. bereavement, separation or illness in the family.

Parents are made aware that all information they provide about their children (or information from the child) are kept confidential and treated on a strict need to know basis. (see confidentiality policy)
