The winter conditions delayed the original date for the 'Don Mark's Winter Shield, but managed to get the event playing before Christmas, but only just! This meant however that fairway mats were required, for those that could find the fairways anyway! It did make for some interesting shots, David Greetham using the Driver from the fairway mats a couple times, notably finding the middle of the par 5 14th green in two, only to 3 put down the slope!
The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain in the last few weeks, and trolleys allowed which helped a few of the members, Andy Birch played consistently well across the 18 holes to score 35 points and taking the trophy by 1 shot from Andy Pryce.
Stuart Marks came in third place one shot ahead of David Greetham to take the Order of Merit again by a single point, the Captains choices of courses certainly helped him this year, well played Stuart and a great year as Captain.
At the other end of the results was Andy Heyes, usually very steady so unsure what happened out there to score only 15 points, even JP came in with 20 points, using his Takomo irons to great effect to score regularly.
