Fleece & Fibre Fair: the South Australian Coloured Sheep Owners' Society's annual Fair. Saturday August 8, 10-4 at the Soldiers' Memorial Hall, Mt Pleasant. FREE ADMISSION. Spinning & Weaving demonstrations, woollen crafts, books, wool yarns, coloured fleece, sheep & alpaca. Refreshments (Homemade soup, Cake, Devonshire Teas).

SALA Textile Events in August 2015:

Blankets Re-Imagined: a SALA Exhibition at the Onkaparinga Woollen Mill, Lobethal: 40 artists will be participating, creating something interesting from recycled Onkaparinga blankets. From August 1=30, open only at weekends, 10:30-3:30.

Iconic: Contemporary Textile Art: at the Embroiderers Guild of SA, Hughes Street, Mile End. Free Entry. August 1-15, week days 10-3, weekends 10-5.

Duet: SALA exhibition by John Gniel (pen and watercolour) and Kaye Oliver (felted textiles). Open 1-31 August, Thurs-Mon 10-5, Mt Jagged Wines, 3191 Victor Harbor Rd, Mt Compass. Opening: 2pm Saturday August 1 at Mt Jagged Wines.

Scarf Exchange 2015: The theme this year is Year of the Sheep / Goat.  Return completed item to the organisers by 28 August. An exhibition of completed articles will be at the Peppermint Grove Library (1 Leake St, Peppermint Grove WA 6011) on 11-13 Sept. All welcome to view the creations. spinweavewa.org.

13th Southern Hemisphere Feltmakers Convergence: Sept 27-Oct 2 in Auckland, New Zealand.

2015 Mini Maker Faire: will be held on Sunday Nov 1, at Tonsley.

Grampians Texture 2016: 5-10 March 2016. Includes 2 and 4 day workshops on a range of textile topics, including plant dyeing and shibori, knitting, felting, and braided rag rugs. 6 day master classes on Making Places and Making Spaces (with Sandy Webster) and Design: Finding the Missing Links (with Celia Player).
