Homeschoolers are required by NC state law to administer a nationally standardized test every 12 months; therefore, HCH will offer 3 convenient testing blocks a year.  If off season testing is needed please contact us to set up a date.  For special or off season testing there will be an additional $15 fee per student or a flat rate for families with 4 or more children of $50.

We offer the IOWA, Terra Nova, and CAT tests.

California Achievement Test (CAT)--Cost is $40/per student and includes testing days, all materials, return shipping, and a copy of your child's scores for you to keep in your files.  The California Achievement Test is a nationally normed standardized test that measures achievement in the areas of Reading, Language Arts and Math. This is a Core Battery/Survey Edition and testing will only be one day.  Tests are scored by publisher and results will be available appx 6 weeks after testing date.

IOWA Test (ITBS)--Cost is $55/per student (grades k-2) and $45/per student (grades 3-12) and includes testing days, all materials, return shipping, and a copy of your child's scores for you to keep in your files.   The Iowa Test is a nationally normed standardized test that offers educators a diagnostic look at how their students are progressing in key academic areas.  The breakdown scoring is a little more complex than the scores of the CAT tests.

Terra Nova--Cost is $60/per student  and includes testing days, all materials, return shipping, and a copy of your child's scores for you to keep in your files.  The Terra Nova test is a nationally-recognized, norm-referenced, standardized achievement test that is extremely accurate in their assessment of student achievement.
